Crowne Plaza Hamburg - City Alster by IHG

I hadn't known about this hotel before, so I was quite excited to check in. Somehow, I always associate hotels with "Plaza" in their name with very comfortable accommodations. The first impression upon entering the lobby confirmed my expectations. A beautiful, spacious entrance area with subtle lighting gave off a feeling of being able to feel comfortable in the hotel. I didn't have to wait at the reception desk and was even able to get into my room before the official check-in time. I was thrilled with the room itself. There were no signs of wear and tear, which you often find in hotels. The room was relatively large, the bed very comfortable, and the shower delivered more than the trickle you often get in other hotels. Despite the room facing the inner atrium, you couldn't hear any of the hotel operations or other guests, and it was very quiet. My only issue was the air conditioning. It pointed directly at the bed and couldn't be completely turned off, even when I pressed the off switch, so I was always in a draft. Another positive aspect was the spontaneity of the hotel staff. I spontaneously decided to have breakfast in my room that same morning, and it was delivered within 30 minutes, even though pre-orders were supposed to be placed by 2 AM. I really enjoyed my stay and can absolutely recommend the hotel, especially if you're not sensitive to air conditioning.
