an amazing area with a beautiful view ' the restaurant is good' lot of options to order/ 

 there is a menu in hebrew' so its  nice 

fact for the israelies 
waiters have a traditional garments
prices are fine but the meal is not big enough for  hungry man / you should order another small or a big dish

what a place !!!

This was our second trip to the Tannenmuhle. We could not be happier and will be back. It is the perfect spot for daytrips around the Black forest. We walked at least 6 miles every day on easy hiking trails.

one more perfet week .

Wanted to have a relaxing evening with kids and friends. Took us ages to get served as waitress decided that she'd worked enough for the night! Food was nothing special but expensive; playground ok for kids but there were works so not everything was accessible. Tons of people... there are definitely nicer places in the area!

Poor and unfriendly service, expensive food

Located out of the way in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, we were recommended a visit by a local. They specialise in trout. It's nice food and good friendly service. I had the garlic & chilli soup followed by trout with potatoes and spinach. There is an English menu at the restaurant but I was unable to get the English menu up online (though you can get the German one online).

Location:
The restaurant and hotel is placed in a little, beautiful and quiet valley with several brooks. The inside of the restaurant is cosy. Around the house there are many animals around the house (deers, horses, pigs, goats, rabbits, peacocks, lamas, etc.) and a great playground for children with slides, sand, houses, swings, waterplayground, etc. For one euro you can play with some diggers, which are pneumatic. And last time I was there, they build up a tower crane. (But at that time it didn't work yet) There's also a playground inside the house with a ball pond.

Food:
They're specialized in trouts. They have several preparation methods. But also the rest of the menu tastes delicious. I've eaten there several times and never had any bad food.

Service:
Mostly very friendly. On Sundays the get a little bit hectic. But when you see how much people they serve between 11h30 and 16h00, I understand that.

Summary:
For weekend or even single day trips with the family or for couples, who like to be around children (because there are quite many somedays ;-) ) it's a great place to be. If you like you also can hike around the place, which is also beautiful.

Great weekend trip for the family

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. We were a family of 5 and got an apartment with 2 bedrooms+ an attic with 2 additional beds. The place also included a kitchen that had all utensils, a fridge, dishwasher, a coffee machine and a toaster. The place included a big bath and 2 toilets. Everything was furnished simply but clean. Two things bothered me:
1- there is no cleaning service for the rooms. I did not mind this as long as the apartment included a broom or a mop. There was nothing to clean with and I think it's a mistake.
2- there was a washing machine in our apartment. But- there was no detergent. I had no intentions on buying a large package of detergent and asked the reception 3 times before I received some detergent. 

The location of this place is wonderful. It's in the woods, in a picturesque area with many animals- which are always an attraction for the kids. 

I would recommend this place to other families looking for a simple, country style resort.
