Etienne, the Belgian host and his wife Arielle did absolutely everything to make our 4 night stay memorable. Let's not forget their gentle giant, Bowie, a beautiful Leonberger who loved to play with Oliver, our small puppy.
The room was perfectly appointed for a long stay, the breakfasts were abundant, and fresh.
The pool and other amenities were well maintained.
All in all, a great place to start a visit in the Luberon, close to Gordes, Roussillon and the spectacular Gorges du Verdon.

Another great place in the Luberon

My wife and I spent 9 nights in one of the self-catering gites and we had a lovely, relaxing time at Le Lantana. The property is only 30 mins drive from Avignon and travel to and from Le Lantana, via Eurostar direct from the UK, was very easy. The location is quiet and very convenient for exploring the beautiful Luberon area. The gite was clean and had everything we needed - most evenings we had our meal on the quiet terrace having cooked on the gas BBQ! The outside swimming pool is a good size and is kept very clean. Apart from swimming in the pool we enjoyed relaxing by it and enjoying the Provence sunshine - even in September, it was still very warm and sunny during our stay!
The owners,Etienne and Arielle, are very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. They kindly enjoyed us to join them for a drink and nibbles one evening with another couple from Belgium who were staying in one of the other gites.

Great location, great hosts

The hosts were very warm and friendly.  Etienne was extremely accommodating and helped us to find an alternative B and B when I accidentally booked the incorrect dates for our stay.  Etienne lent us a GPS for use during our stay, and that was a lifesaver - we couldn't have seen half of what we saw without the GPS.  The pool was clean and the room was spotless and very comfortable.  The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water.  The AC worked very well.  Breakfast was delicious with a wide assortment of bread and pastries, five types of jam, ham, cheese, yogourt, fresh fruit and coffee.  The family members were very friendly and welcoming.  The location was excellent - a short 5 minute drive to a large grocery store and bank.

A beautiful setting

Le Lantana was peaceful, beautiful, and above all, has friendly hosts Etienne and Arielle.  They welcome us with drinks by the clean and large pool.  We also had drinks with other guests on our first night.  Our rooms (we rented two guest rooms near the pool) were very clean and had modern bathrooms. The property is so huge, surrounded by trees like olives and cypress. The hosts were helpful in pointing to us where the best restaurants were, and even made the booking for us at Auberge des Lagnes which offered the greatest Provençal food!  Etianne was particularly helpful in pointing out the best village routes around Tallaides. It was also a pleasure to see the hosts and guests made our stay a warm one (we arrived in an unusually cold spring month) by putting up a gas heater at the guest kitchen by the pool.  Breakfasts were served indoor and outdoors, depending on the weather. We did feel like we were in Provence, with the warmth and hospitality of the hosts, and the peaceful and natural landscape.  We would love to come back next year...in the months when the lavenders bloom!

Very pleasant gem in Provence

Just reacting on  the review “horrible” .
We had a similar experience last summer with our guesthouse. Look here for a small summary.
Guesthouse was dirty .Airco  in children’s room was no airco , but just  a wind cooling machine that hardly worked.The shower head was dirty and fell always on the floor.  Fungus on the bathroom wall. Barbecue grill and space was dirty and not cleant.  Not enough parasols at the swimming pool(by the way the picture of the swimming pool on the internet site  is not the swimming pool of the guesthouses. Why isn’t this picture shown?  We know the reason.
Toilets at the swimming pool weren’t cleant for more than 14 days. Sitting in otherman’s [--] (this is real and no joke).is not the purpose of our holidays 
We had just the feeling that the owners weren’t doing their job with much pleasure. 

Otherwise said , for more than, 1200 €/week you can  find much better alternatives. From point of view  PRICE /QUALITY  it is to expensive. The guesthouses are absolutely not to recommend

Guesthouse price / quality NOT OK

We just came back from  our vacation in the provence to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary with the whole family. We reserved this place looking so good on the internet. Since I always check on tripadvisor and never has been disappointed so far I thougt this was going to be a lovely vacation ( we rented la bergerie Le Lantana)  We arrived on sunday evening. The owners were on vacation and planed to come back on wednesday. So their brother in law guided us around.  First of all  you can see on the pictures the state of the house, It was was just awful: sheets  and bedcovers with stains, pillow filthy, hood covert with fat, stove , lamp above diner table just horrible ;everything was broken: cups, tellers, bowls, pots, parasols deck chairs, door from kitchen cabinet, glasses full of limescale and decoloreted glasses, baby beds in terrible condition( we only could use one that was new  etc... Then we already wanted to leave. On monday morning we had some havy rainfall:  water came inside the house on 4 locations ( like you can see on the picture that they were aware of the problem( sand bags against the window)) water came through the roof and door. And than we had that terrible sewage thank odor that was the worst. They forcasted all week rain and thunderstorm so we couldn't stay in a leak house with 2 little children and that terrible odor.  So on teusday we fled out of the house and went to a  hotel in Vence' Le Cantemerle'. That saved are vacation ( beautifull  clean rooms very good service and the food was top) WE DID NOT HEAR A WORD FROM THE OWNERS. I did pay in advance the total of the stay and for two times a cleaning lady and new sheets and towels.So far I did not get any money back.  During summer it cost 3950 euro a week , almost 16000 euro a month for this  that's a real ripp-off. I am 57 years old and this was my worst experience I ever had on my 40 years of travel.
And what's worse; this could be a lovely place ( nice house, view and swimming pool) if it would be ran by people who love the bussines of taking care of travelers and giving them more than you would ask for. We also have houses we let and I have a standard that says WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE HERE and if the answer is yes, than you know it never can go wrong.
