We were very pleased to return once again and were not disapointed to see all the changes since our last visit.
The high standard of cleanliness continues as does the hospitality from the owners.
The fullsome breakfast ensures that we do not go hungry.

Fifth visit

Comfortable and welcoming, just a short walk to a beautiful  beach which is just one of many in the area .Creperies abound in this area with some just a stone's throw from the hotel.The coastal path which has been restored recently gives great views in all directions. 

Close to Mine d,or

We stayed in this hotel for one night. We asked a tourist office to help us because you couldn't book automatically on the homepage. It worked out well and we really enjoyed our stay. It was nice to be so close to this very exceptional beach with it's golden cliffs! The room was not very big but fine for our purposes. Breakfast was served at the table. The hotel doesn't serve meals and great eating in the vicinity seems rare.

When we booked we were advised that the hotel would be changing hands on the day of our proposed arrival so our booking was accepted by the new owners who greeted us in flawless English.
We had our "usual" room with a balcony and sea view so it seemed that nothing had changed (yet). Breakfast was fine with the addition of museli to the usual breads, cake, coffee or tea and yogurt.

It was good to have the opportunity to say farewell to Mme Ginette. We thank M & Mme Louran for their hospitality and wish them well with their new venture  which we are sure they will make a good success of it.

Our fourth visit

I drove for miles from Vannes hoping to find a classic hotel right on the beach. When I saw a sign in the village pointing to L'Ancre d'Or I got very hopeful. When I arrived my eyes lit up as it was exactly what I had hoped for. I even splashed out for le grand chambre at the front with le balcon. We went for a great walk (hint: go along the top of the cliffs as the walk goes for miles!) Upon return I trotted up to the little cafe nearby and had a fantastic plate of fried prawns et frites - avec une verre du vin, bien sur. Breakfast the next morning was lovely.

Perfect for la plage!

I've been touring round Brittany in my little motorhome but had decided to treat myself to a hotel occasionally. I had visited Penestin before and it was a convenient stop over for my. The hotel is a little way out from the centre of the town which I hadn't realised but a big bonus is that it's right by the fabulous beach. There is a small car park but also a car park across the way ( with height barriers). The madame was very friendly although had no English and showed me to my room. Nicely decorated with a small balcony with table and two chairs and a view across the car park to the sea. The bed was very comfortable and I slept better than I normally do. The bathroom ( shower only) was very clean with a huge rainfall type shower head, although this did take a while for the water to get hot. I did hear water running for showers a couple of times but nothing untoward. I ate at a restaurant 100 yrds up the road, I was the only person there but the meal was very good. I can't comment on breakfast as I didn't bother but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to come back again.
