Terrible experience. Honor is physically abuse towards the staff and the son is not available at any time. The volunteers are clearly over worked and the beds arent even washed correctly. Do not go here. It is terrible.

The Staff where so kind! Made everything so easy. Chill neighbourhood aswell. The breakfast was super and cheap. I would recomend all of my friends this Hostel. The wifi worked (mainly in the garden and reception), but then again - a super hostel in Quitos Old Town

Amazing staff and nice rooms!

We ended up staying for several days during the protests and enjoyed it there. The neighborhood is quiet but also close to the historical center and the mercado central. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good, clean rooms. An interior garden with hammocks to hang out in. 

Overall, a great place to stay -- especially for the price.

Good spot, nice people

A couple of times we called on Colonial House in times of need, and they answered. Johnny was really good with us and very helpful. The hostel has a gym, Netflix room, pool table and free coffee. We loved staying here and a couple times when we were arriving in Quito they helped us out with a bed. Couldnt recommend this hostel more for chilling.

Great hostel!

Great hostel located right near centro historico in Quito. Very clean in both the room and the common areas. The staff was very knowledge and helpful, and they spoke English fluently. Overall, a very professional and enjoyable hostel.

Beautiful hostel, good prices and in a great area!

Liked  · It is an old house, but well renovated to serve as a hostel. Attention to detail (soap and towels near wash basins) (small leaflets with detailed info on where to go). Extra niceties (coffee, tea, bananas, popcorn included in the price). Garden is an asset. 

Disliked  · WiFi does not work well. Major reason for changing to another hostel. Noise every early morning 6AM loud truck with gas cilinders and ´music´. Choice of music (disco and rap). Shower with electric device (lukewarm water).

WiFi could be better

We stayed here twice, about 5 days the first time and just a night after our return from Galapagos. Pros: Family friendly, yet lots of solo travellers, great relaxing garden with bunnies and hammocks, super friendly staff, lots of day trip tip pamphlets, exercise area with pull up bar.
Cons: Can't think of any. Maybe a bit cold at night but ample blankets and duvets. Oh, shower controls needs some getting used to. 

Super friendly hostel for families and solo travellers

We spent 3 nights in this hostal. It was one of the best hostals, which I slept during our 3 weeks in Ecuador. Free tea, bananas and clean water all the day. Super friendly personal and lounge with table football :)

Greate Hostal!

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful people. Delicious breakfast. Quiet place to stay. The cute bunny guarding the garden is just the cherry on top of the cake. Good brewhouse nearby.

Great place to stay at

The location is ok but far from both bus terminal (quitumbe which we arrived and carcelan) and have to take an Uber or taxi or with trolley bus to stop at the nearest station. The staff are very friendly and helpful always with greetings. The room is nice with confortable beds but a little cold at some nights since the whole hostel does not have heating. Bathroom and toilet are clean as well as the room. But the shower is warm and sometimes cold. Mercado Central is only 5 minutes walk and there is also plenty of restaurants or bakeries around.
