This was our first time in Puerto Ayora and staff was super helpful taking care of our needs, including arranging tours and transportation. We had a package which included meals and the food was wholesome and filling. Overall a great experience, would definitely come back!

Comfortable family-friendly hotel close to the beach

Terrific hotel for the tour we are on.  It is clean and comfortable and in a good location.  It requires about a 10 minute walk to get to the marina but you pass many nice coffee shops and stores and it’s a nice walk.  There are many rooms of different sizes to hold our school group of 25.  The people running the place are very helpful and kind.  The pool is small but great to cool off, and there is a gathering area of sofas that is just right.   The free WiFi is terrific when you’re traveling without cellular service, too.  The restaurant served our group a terrific western breakfast as well!

Clean, flexible, friendly and a good location

The hotel was very clean. Beds were made daily and there were no issues with any insects in the room. The pool water always looked a little foggy and didn't really make me want to swim in it, but my days were always so packed with activities and tours that I never had time to swim in it even if I had wanted to. Plus, it is a small pool and there were always kids playing in it taking up all the room. The staff was very nice, generous and understanding. They had our activities schedule written on a white board every day so we knew when to get ready and what to bring. They were always kind and helped clear up any questions I had about my planed tours. Also, although check-out is in the morning, they let me keep my room until I left to Isabela Island at 14:30. The rooms all have air conditioning, which made for a great escape from the humide and hot outdoors in the Galapagos. The Charles Darwin research station was a 15 minute walk away, and the port to the different islands was also a 20-25 minutes walk from the hotel. Near the port is also where downtown is, where you have access to many different little shops for clothes, souvenirs, restaurants (even though food is included at the hotel), etc. The food at the hotel was tradition Ecuadorean and was always very well prepared. The restaurant staff at the hotel was also always very polite and smiling. This is obviously not the same as a 5 star hotel, but all in all this was a very pleasant stay and I have no regrets here. The quality of the hotel was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting this area. After all, you are visiting to see what the country has to offer, not the hotel! All I needed from the hotel was a safe place to stay, which is exactly what they offered (and more).

Quiet, Clean, Ideal Location

Excellent location and room was great value for money. However since I work online my stay was not all that pleasing. Despite the facilities listed when you look at rooms before reserving, there was only wifi near the reception and pool. The first day the aircon wasnt working, the second day there was no water for a while. I then waited half an hour at the desk to ask somebody to fix it. Perhaps they could improve the description to avoid misunderstandings...

So so..

Our room was small, but nice. (WE NEVER HAD HOT WATER). The food was just okay. The pool was kept nice and the location was good. I would most likely choose a different Hotel next trip to Galapagos...

Nice People / Average Island Hotel

I just stayed there with my husband and another friend last week. The hotel is about 10 years old but it's well-maintained. The rooms while basic are very clean, and have air conditioning units that work very well. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best. If you can, please request a second floor room, otherwise expect to be disturbed by people sitting on the patio till about 9 in the evening. The second-floor rooms each have a nice balcony, so you can enjoy the evening, while not disturbing others or being disturbed by others.The staff is extremely helpful, particularly Gonzelo. If your booking a vacation package, I don't recommend that you have all your meals included. The Restaurant Next door serves very basic bland food with little variety and charges $7 for each meal. You can get much better food for a few dollars more if you walk into town. My package included breakfast and it was the same thing every day for five days. Rather than working with hotel staff to book your daily excursions, I recommend the short walk down to Darwin Avenue where as you walk towards the pier you'll see many different travel agencies. They basically all book the same tours, but you can bargain with them if you combined tours. Be sure however to check out reviews of the different day excursions so you know exactly what to expect and what type of clothing and other equipment to bring with you.


Clean, inexpensive hotel with great staff

I went on February and the hotel accomodation was ok for 4 days. They had problems with the water there was only cold water for shower but the food was GREAT! i loved it!
The Charles Darwin Station is just around the corner and it is also near downtown.

Good for a few days

Place is clean but very basic. The nickel and dime you for everything. While the food is included in most packages, It is the same thing every day and it’s not very appetizing.Would not stay there again. Traveling with somebody it was a cheap ass and book the place and it was non refundable

Clean but very basic

This hotel was a disappointment.  The property is old and run down in dire need of a new paint job.  The pool did not seem clean, thankfully my 12 year old who swam daily didn't have any problems though.  In our room, the bathroom door the lock was broken and very difficult to open and close.  There were smoke alarms in our room that would beep about every 10 seconds, I asked about it and they said that is normal, there is no way to turn them off - it just means they are working.  There were lightbulbs missing and it just is in need of some upkeep.  The beds and rooms were kept clean though - we ate food in the hotel and it was decent, some dishes better than others.

Its a place to sleep, but not luxurious!
