This delightful little B & B / hotel is a hidden gem. Jorge Goya, the owner, is an incredible business person. He wears many hats like any smart business person and does an exceptional job at it all. 

My friend and I stayed here on our arrival night into Guayaquil in Jan. 2016. Jorge actually picked us up from the airport. Right on time and ready to assist us in any way. During this short stay and my subsequent visit as I left Guayaquil, Jorge not only offered dining suggestions, but personally drove me to several places. 

One stands out. I mentioned I wanted to get a "Panama" hat (actually made in Montecristo, Ecuador) for a friend. Jorge said he'd take me directly to the source. Holy smokes, what an incredible treat that was!! I met the gentleman whose father and grandfather sold these treasures to Presidents and Kings. They are hand woven and take many months each to make one. The price range was about $150 to over $1,000.

The lovely Bed & Breakfast type of lodging was just perfect. Though some say it is hard to find, it is near very busy streets, but tucked away and very safe. The rooms are large & air conditioned, the beds comfortable, and bathrooms clean. The breakfast was made to order and they catered to your needs.

I can't say enough - this was a wonderful experience at Goya Suites & Apts. in Guayaquil.

Personal attention at it's finest!

The hotel is great, the staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Room was clean has air conditioning, convenient to airport with a taxi service available 24/7. All good and I would certainly stay again. HOWEVER, very difficult to find. Our taxi had to get directions 4 times and took over 30 mins in area to finally locate the hotel. Also the is not any indication that it is a hotel.not even an address outside. Other than that go for it but have a map handy.

Great place  BUT !!!

We booked this hotel/B&B in Guayaquil for two nights in between flights to/from the Galapagos Islands. From the start the manager (Jorge Goya) was personable and professional, reaching out by email to determine whether we needed airport taxi service. We found him very responsive by email, and set up the taxi service which appeared competitive with the prices that the individual taxis were offering from the airport ($5 vs $4-5 for taxi).

The suite itself was very nice, clean, with the air conditioning and Wi-Fi working perfectly. We opted for the breakfast, which was the finest breakfast we had in our time in Ecuador. Jorge also helped out with our trips - explaining how and where to get the INGALA card to the Galapagos and setting us up with an airport taxi at 3 AM for our return flight back to the US. Highly recommended!

Great Hotel near the Guayaquil Airport

We ended up staying at Goya at the last minute due to traveling disruptions - fortunately they have a room available at a reasonable price.  They did offer airport pick-up for $12, but we took a taxi for $5 - just know that - truly - taxi drivers cannot find this place!  We drove around, up and down streets forever (no GPS, apparently) before finally finding it.  Better signage out front would certainly help - there is nothing really identifying the building as Goya.

The building itself is on a quiet side street within walking distance of major streets - we walked to a large mall that is nearby, as well as a supermarket (to buy bottled water).  it is an old building, somewhat shabby, but clean and comfortable enough.  There was no one who spoke English there either in the afternoon when we arrived or the next morning, so communication was pretty hit/miss.

Our room had two twin beds and a full bed (not what we reserved, but didn't matter - we just wanted to sleep!) - up a couple flights of narrow and not completely even steps.  Be careful if you have balance issues or heavy luggage.  The room was clean, bathroom was small, but adequate.  Walls are paper-thin and we had to ask the people in the room next door to turn down their TV set a couple of times (and they complied both times, thankfully).  Still, the area is quiet, for the most part, and we slept very well.  (Note: the pillow had sham coverings instead of regular pillow cases, which didn't bother me, but might bother others.)

We had to leave for the airport before breakfast in the morning, much to the disappointment of the woman who was there getting it ready (we really wished that we knew more Spanish!) - we actually walked back to the airport just for exercise.  If you don't have much luggage and are willing to carry it or roll on uneven surfaces, it's a doable walk.

All in all, this was a convenient and adequately comfortable place to spend the night when facing a short stay and wanting to remain near the airport.  Be sure to get directions in Spanish for the taxi driver before getting in the cab!
