Hotel El Mesón de la Flota

We were originally due to stay at the Beltran on the other side of the plaza vieja from this place but due to a number of issues they were having they didn't have space so put us in this plac nearby which they also owned. I wouldn't necessarily call it a hotel as it is more a restaurant with a few rooms above it but I feel like we won out by being put here. Our room was fantastic with high ceilings, a balcony and plenty of space. I liked nothing more than watching Havana life go by on the balcony every morning when I woke up. We were well looked after throughout our stay by all the staff but specifically Julio who greeted us on arrival and was always helpful and the maid coretel who was always so friendly and cheerful. Although the rooms were over a restaurant with flamenco music as we were in Havana and often out we were never disturbed by the music. Finally, breakfast was included in our room price and was a feast! We have plates of fresh fruit, fruit juice, eggs ham and cheese and baskets of bread which were baked in the restaurant that morning.
