18 reviewsI was here for 2 nights. The pool was refreshing for a dip, after arriving in late. The bunk bed style room was inconvenient, as I had to get up and down the stairs of a high bed. They will be adding breakfast, but this isn't formalized yet. The owner is friendly. She offered that her staff make me some yummy breakfast and juice for US $5, since I had an early group tour to do. It was nice enjoying this by the pool. She also arranged a bike rental for me for the day for US $7 from a private owner. The bike was ghetto, but it did the trick. The hotel is in Playa Negra, so there is some dirt road to navigate. After that, it's not too far to Peurto Viejo town. I underestimated how long it would take me to bike to Manzanillo for the 15 KM, and ended up getting caught biking in the dark. This is not safe. There are no cabs along the route either, until you get back to Peurto Viejo. Not all cabs have bike racks. The hotel dog Quattro is lovely. If you stay at this hotel, you also have some use of the services of nearby Banana Azul by the water. I would have stayed a 3rd night at Casa Vikingo had time allowed, but I was off to Rio Pacuare with shuttle pick up from the hotel.
