I stayed here for 7 nights upon arrival to Costa Rica for a 2 month consultancy with a local organization. I only stayed a week as although this place is affordable, I have a very small budget this visit and needed a longer term homestay. I would agree with other positive reviews in terms of location, staff, and the nice rooms. I had #34 on the 3rd floor overlooking the mountains and on the corner so I found it to be quite ideal in terms of view and noise. I left the curtains wide open the whole time and could see the lights in the distance below the mountains in the distance from the bed. I used the kitchen a lot and would only warn that only 2 of 3 burners worked well and there are no towels or dish soap so you'll need to pick some up. The Mundo Pequeno just right around the corner has all sorts of home goods for $1-2 so stop there for anything you might need (or ask at the desk--they might have more stuff). I bought a cutting board and a dish towel for $1 each. They have some dry goods like chips and cookies, but walk further up to the mini mart for more basics (coffee, beverages) or around to the back past the Mundo Pequeno for a Fresh Market. About a 5 minute walk to the west is the AutoMercado if you want a larger grocery store. Wifi worked very well the entire week.
