The room and hot springs were great. Room was clean with big fluffy beds, hot shower and bathtub, local cable tv, wifi. There were a selection of pools. The pools seemed popular with the locals, but the hotel felt oddly empty. Breakfast very Chinese (baoze, noodles, porridge), situated across the hotel building over this odd passage way, and you must bring your breakfast ticket with you (lady wouldn't accept room key only). The place is a bit far from the city center, and no nearby restaurants/shops unless you took a taxi. We ended up buying snacks/food at an Aeon Mall (about 15-20 minutes away by car) to keep in the room. Transportation wasn't so easy (relied on friend who can use the Didi app.) My friend could speak Mandarin so she helped out with everything (checking in and out, getting a taxi, navigating). I feel I would have a pretty hard time getting there if I were to go alone, would go back for the hot springs though.

Great hot springs and room. Chinese language needed

As the weather turns a bit chillier (finally!) we decided to escape from Suzhou and enjoy the hot springs. It was super easy to get to from Suzhou SIP. We took the line 1 metro to tayuan lu and grabbed a cab which cost 40 rmb to the hotel. We booked the hotel online through expedia before so it was easy check-in, but you will need to be able to speak mandarin. (Note - the hotel is behind the restaurant which is directly on the street. Walk through the restaurant and take the elevators on the left to floor 2. Then walk across the bridge and up the stairway to the hotel. OR walk on the driveway behind the restaurant to the stairs up to the hotel.) The hotel for the night was a great deal - it covered our entrance to the hot springs right next door, entrance to the yangshan national forest park, breakfast the next day and free admission to some sort of golf course. There is also free wifi. The hotel is typical Chinese - the rooms are comfortable, but not elaborate. They do the job :) Breakfast is very Chinese. On the street next to the hotel there is a restaurant which is pretty good and cheaper than the hotel restaurant. We spent the first day there at the hot springs which was lovely and the next day we walked about 45 minutes to the national forest park and hiked through the mountain. Conveniently, at the bottom of the mountain you can grab bus 322 which can take you to a 3 metro stops. it's a bit of a long ride, but it will be almost impossible to get a taxi that far out. Overall a fun little weekend retreat that was affordable, relaxing and incredibly easy to access. Highly recommend it!

A great weekend retreat

It's a vast property area at the foot of the mountain with breathtaking landscaping and design.  It's far away from the downtown so I was worried about getting a taxi but 5 minutes after I checked out, the taxi was already waiting for me.
     I love the bed because they provided lots of pillows and I was only one!  I slept really well after a massage.  The price of the massage is just like everywhere else in Shanghai.  I thought it would be more expensive since it's in a hotel.  The breakfast is so-so.  They have LAN connection in every room but I didn't try it because I bought an iPad and needed a WiFi (sorry, no WiFi). As for the staff, they are very friendly and helpful.  A couple of them can speak English.
    If you stay in the hotel and buy a hot spring ticket, you get a discount on the ticket from RMB188 to RMB110.  But once you checked out of the hot spring, you can't use the same ticket to get in.  The food inside is just Chinese snack and noodles.  Better bring some food if you want to spend hours inside.  The facility has hot spring pools, tennis room, massage rooms, resting room (reclining chairs with individual TVs), dining hall, heated stone beds and sauna's (but not yet available). Too bad, it's not allowed to take pictures.  
     All in all, I had a great stay in this hotel and resort.  I highly recommend it and would love to go back again.
