Great hotel for traveling families, couples and friends. 
The sparking spot in this place is that it makes you feel like home, comfortable. 
It locates near St. Shiquan, where is also a worth-visiting place.

Comfortable

We selected this hotel on its being 1 block from the old quarter area where excellent restaurants and shops are located . The hotel is definitely a 3 star hotel but with 5 Star service . The front desk were able to help us out in giving directions to restaurants, laundry service etc. Yes the facility could use some updating but for the price would definitely stay here again. We were told in advance that breakfast was chinese style only . It in actuality was very good everyone in our group especially the grandchildren enjoyed it very much

50th Wedding Anniverary Family vacation

I loved Suzhou, and this hotel is definitely a budget style place to stay.  It is in the Old Quarter, so it provides interesting walks down streets to the canal, shops and parks nearby.

When we arrived, the staff spoke little or no English, so we were fortunate that we had our guide with us.  Her Head Office had booked our room, but the Hotel had no record of our booking.  After nearly half an hour (with us sitting outside, waiting), the Hotel finally upgraded us and gave us one of their only available rooms (there was a conference happening during our visit).  Luckily we didn't have to pay any difference in cost, but I think our Tour Company would have to do so.

Our room was spacious, overlooking a small roof courtyard with very old tables and chairs, with umbrellas that were frayed and damaged.  We went out, and there was rubbish, weeds (even growing from the gutters), and we were sad that it had fallen into disrepair.  A little bit of sprucing up would make it a lovely place to sit.

There was an electric kettle in our room, but no coffee or tea (we had brought our own, so didn't bother reception).  There were double sinks in the bathroom, but one had a large crack in it.  The shower was one of those in the corner with no sides to it, and unfortunately the water went all over the floor, even in front of the toilet - I don't think they allowed enough angle for drainage.

The bed was quite comfortable (a huge plus in China where beds tend to be rock hard).  We only stayed one night, but thought it was a pretty good place in a lovely town.  It's not glamorous, but all you really need is a good bed and shower.

Out the front are tables and chairs, and the car park has a security officer looking after things.  Make sure you take a business card from the Hotel when you wander around, just in case you need to ask directions for your return!  Our tour guide told us that this was the first hotel built in Suzhou - it has aged a bit and could do with an update.

Definitely good enough for tired travellers who don't mind the age of the place - it's no palace, but it's good enough...

First hotel in Suzhou - needs a bit of updating

I was part of a tour group who stayed here in Sept 2015. I was the only single traveller & hadn't been having much luck with hotel rooms. This hotel had aircon, a huge superking bed & a shower to die for. It was the best nights sleep I had for the whole trip!! It was also central to some nice shops & places to eat.

Best hotel of the trip!

Great reception staff, comfortable room with lovely design, rainforest shower and a wide window from the the bathroom to the bedroom. The only downside is being located a bit away from other hotels, but this place was worth the trip. Highly recommended for your stay.
