The staff were very friendly but there was no English signs or service. On check-in they were not able to process any cards that were not from China. Luckiky I had a local contact who could pay the bill and then charge back to me. Rooms were large and clean,  though surprised the sheets were not changed during a 7 night stay. Great location to catch buses or walk to "first market" and a decent shopping mall. Lots of nightclubs and restaurants very closeby. All in all i would probably reccomend to stay where there is some English available to help with tours, taxis and information. Definitely aimed at the Chinese market. I would have eaten at the restaurant but was not able to take time to translate the menu and moved on. Interestingly there is a cat cafe in the foyer that had clear English signs.

Not ready for western tourism

Stayed there 7 nights in January. The lobby is big and nice.
The check in was easy, I was surprised by the size of suite room for the price. It was great value for what I paid.
Usually for 60€ in Shanghai or Beijing you got a basic small room. 
Here I got a huge suite, the bathtub got marks of overuse.
When I was there in january, the hotel wasn't full so it was nice, mostly Chinese tourists.
The breakfast was well furnished for China, Chinese steamed buns, noodles, rice, salad, English breakfast, egg, bread. I wasn't expecting more it was enough.

The pool was a bit cold but since I was the only one using it it was great.

You have to walk a good 15 minutes to find some Western restaurants, Pizza hut, KFC...

I booked some tours in town for cheap thanks to a local friend.
Great things to visit in sanya.

I would recommend a visit in yalong bay great beach there.

If you are a young couple, there are some malls 40rmb away from the hotel by taxi where you can play arcade game or watch a movie.


Great stay

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our golf trip in March and found the lobby area full of people from China tour groups which is a sign of an overused facility and it was.  Although the room was spacious with a separate sitting area,  it appeared a bit aged.  The top of my vanity stop plug is loose and keeps falling off.  The hotel does not provide disposable slippers so you must use their rubber reusable slippers. The worst part of staying at this hotel is the breakfast. Chinese hotel guests do not dine in an orderly manner and the buffet lines are almost non-existent.  Everyone is jockeying positions to get their food, especially the most popular food items like pan-fried eggs and noodles.  The disorderly nature is even worse at the door as my group of 7 people was lined up waiting for breakfast to be opened and when it opened, Chinese diners behind us tried to swarm the entrance even though the hostess was hollering to line up!  Selections inside the breakfast buffet is also very slim definitely not befitting of a 5-star rating.  So a 5-star hotel? No way!  A 3-4 star hotel at best!

5 stars? No way!

Went there for lunch and tried the restaurant in the hotel
They serve pretty good Cantonese food 
It's quite a big hotel next to the yacht club
If interested in going out to sea you can rent their yacht minimum 3 hours 
Very scenic and in town by the river with lots of good drinking places and clubs nearby 
Good place to have dinner too

Good Cantonese restaurant 

I and my girlfriend stayed 9 nights on June in a superior mountain view suite at 14th floor, sight was great indeed lots of traffic noise at night. Breakfast is served until 10 am and the variety of food served is great, as well as the quality of food. Swimming pool is very big and tidy, staff is kind but only few talk English. Price was great, so was the overall quality of the hotel. Position is excellent, few minutes taxi by sanya beach and also dadonghai beach, and a short walk to Sanya first market.
