This was my fifth stay in 2.5 years. I choose this hotel mainly for its scenic and relaxing lakeside location (including a 40km cycling “greenway” around Qingshan Lake) and proximity to Hangzhou (one hour) and Tianmushan nature reserve (<one hour). The hotel has been recently refurbished with our comfortable room feeling fresher but now with the bathroom not the bedroom by the window overlooking the lake. The buffet dinner and breakfast are adequate and the former cheap. There is a Chinese restaurant too. Service is somewhat amateur but pleasant and on one of the three nights we had to remind housekeeping to tidy our room! It is largely a wedding and event hotel so can be a bit noisy but this does not detract too much from the relaxing environment.

Great lakeside location, recently refurbished

We stayed here for long weekend as it was the closest luxury hotel to Tianmushan (worth a visit, <1 hour away). Best thing is the lakeside location and surrounding gardens. Standard and quite good Chinese not quite 5 star hotel. Room was comfortable, only let down by shower room. Breakfast and buffet dinner were both very good but avoid soulless Chinese restaurant downstairs. Service was friendly but not quite perfect. 

Good Chinese hotel next to a lake and in reach of some beautiful scenery

We arrived here by chance. Typically tourist hotel (this must be crowded in the summer), we found it in a very nice environment.

Trouble free check in. The room was excellent. Everything you might expect (and a few things you might not, like condoms) is there. Everything worked nicely in the room and there was no major hiccup.

Call me shy, but I prefer toilets to be in bunkers: thunders and poisonous emissions are better if contained. Besides, if you have to be controlling every muscle in your body while in the toilet to keep fanfare at bay... c'mon, this is a place to let loose!! In this case, not only was the toilet room communicated with the rest of the bathroom and room (no wall over the door), but the door was made of glass. I was alone and there was no reason to panic, but had I been with company and I would have kicked her out of the room to keep my privacy intact. Dear designers, this is not necessary.

Dinner buffet was acceptable. Breakfast just barely.

Next time I am around I will try to stay there again. I liked it.

Great views

Amazing Hotel with a very good management and facilities.
The food was very good and a variety of choices exist.
The room service was very professional and perfectionist. The management was helpful in our touristic activities by suggesting places to visit in the area.

Great 

I was really surprised, meeting this quality, even better than many western  hotels. In fact it's more of a resort with wonderful surroundings. The interior is like a mixture between chines and europeen design. The food and service was also excellent.
More expensive than we are used to, but well worth the price.
On the negative part, perhaps bad english among the personel, but that we are used to.

Indeed a 5 star hotel

Set against a lake with grand buildings and structures the hotel looks very impressive - a modern interpretation of the hotels of old. WiFi was good in the room (very important for me) and the room was spacious and had everything laid on. Breakfast was wide ranging and of good quality. The service was good - swift and helpful. What spoiled it a bit, and this was not the hotel's fault, was the poor visibility and high levels of pollution. Also, the finishes were starting to look a little tired - may be the reason why the one wing was closed and had scaffolding all over it. Pricing was fair is you claim / can claim a corporate rate
