Swan of Love Dongguan Hotel

Had the opportunity to stay at CP Swan Lake Hotel recently. CP Swan lake has three blocks of rooms to it. The original CP Swan Lake Block A and adjacent building Block B. Originally we were booked into Block A/B at $$298RMB. Since its pretty quiet in CP recently, we were offered the same price to upgrade to Block C of their hotel which is about a 4 minute walk away through a parkade. Upgrades are fantastic so we took their offer and the front desk clerk led us to it. I found the Block C to be brighter, spacious, look and feel of a premium product and overall quality to be much better. BTW, this used to be the CP Peninsula Hotel a while ago as I found out. The marble and granite flooring and walls of the lobby with their beautiful bright chandeliers greeted us. Check out was the usual with the registration and scanning of your passport. One breakfast voucher per room was given. We were assigned the fifth floor so up we went to the elevators. Two available for your convenience and ultra quiet presence when it approaches. We would have missed the elevator several times during the stay had we not opened our eyes fully. Each floor has a large marble lobby that leds to a dark coloured carpeted area and hallway that is dimmed but still tastefully lit. Heavy wooden doors lined the hallway and the floor is so quiet and serene. The keycard is smartcard enabled and we swiped to enter. Like most hotels in China, we had to insert the keycard to the slot to power on the room. Same decorating scheme as the lobby with bright white marble and granite countertops. There are many lighting to brighten up the bathroom and bedroom. The large bathroom had a Jacuzzi rectangular tub with ample space for your toiletries. It is surrounded by two large window panes that has automated retractable blinds that provides privacy to the bedroom view. There is even a bubble bath and other soaps for purchase if you forget to bring your own. Its large enough to fit two people. The glass walled shower can also fit two people with its curved glass door. Option to use hand wand or showerhead over you. Bad thing about this shower stall is there are gaps between the glass panes so water will leak onto the floor outside when you shower. Not completely sealed. The toilet is normal sit down so that is fine. For purchased items also available in room are condoms, intimate wash for both male and female, premium shampoo and premium soap. Complimentary amenity kit includes pair of toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, shower cap, cotton swabs, and shampoo/bodywash. The closet has enough space and hangars for your luggage and clothes. In Room Safe in side as well. There is a luggage rack in the bedroom for convenience and a flat panel TV. Most of the lighting can be controlled at the entrance, with dual controls also available by the bedside for convenience. A good size corner glass tabletop desk by a mirrored wall adds to the premium look and feel of the room with a white leather contemporary styled office chair to accompany it. A small couch is also available for flexibility seating by the large windows with blackout curtains for extra privacy. Complimentary WiFi also included with good connection however the speed is slow at times. King Size bed is standard with comfortable pillows. Fridge and bar is stocked with a few selections of drinks and snacks. Two bottles of complimentary water available, with two more Evian bottles of water for $15 RMB each. Coffee/Tea Making facilities also provided. The restaurant behind the front desk is full service that is open early and closed late. There is a popular chained convenience store attached to the hotel, business centre with printing and PCs and a theatre also a few steps away. A KTV and Spa is attached to the hotel on Block B and also another restaurant. Pros: Location, amenities, pricing, room cleanliness, WG friendly, and quiet, serene atmosphere, front desk can exchange small amount of foreign currency. Cons: Shower leaks as glass walls are not sealed, no good views as its CP, relatively new name/location that may cause some confusion when friends and taxi drop off. Have to indicate Block C of CP Swan Lake Hotel. Staff is friendly however, you do need to speak Mandarin/Cantonese to communicate. Only a pair of towels provided such as hand, face and bath.
