We had a wonderful stay at the Gîte du Marquis. It is located right on the bike path, across the street from a lovely park and the river, an excellent location. We arrived and were greeted with a friendly smile from the owner, Christine. She showed us around and allowed us to store our bike in their locked garage. Our room was cute and had everything we might need, including nice fluffy towels and good wifi. There are 4 rooms which share 1 bath but it was always available when we wanted it and always clean and well stocked. The breakfast was magnificent. Christine cooks to order and she made me crepes with ham and cheese - they were heavenly. The breakfast also included croissant, homemade yogurt and beautiful fresh fruit. There was also a tomato fresh from the garden. When I commented on how good it was, Christine went out and picked 2 and gave them to us! My husband’s breakfast was eggs, toast, home fries and bacon, all in plentiful quantities and also including the yogurt, fruit and croissants. The breakfast alone was almost worth the whole cost of the stay! And the warm, friendly owners really made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend this B&B.

A great find

The hosts were very nice and friendly.

Excellent B&B

I had a really good experience during my stay at the Gite du Marquis. The owner is really helpful and warm and ensures that the guests are comfortable. It can get a little noisy during the day but the owner goes out of her way to make the stay relaxing for her guests.

Nice place, good experience, awesome breakfast

We stayed here for two nights and looked around the area. The whole family was very friendly and open - we especially enjoyed listening to the kids play (don`t worry, they were not to loud!) and Christine was really helpful, she even did a part of our laundry after we got stuck in a storm (thanks again!). Breakfast was great (homemade jam, crepes with apple, fresh fruit), the beds were comfortable and everything was clean.
We had a bit of bad luck with the guests on night 2 - the place is just too small for loud sex and showers at midnight - and finding a sign on the only toilet with "don`t use" in the middle of the night wasn`t very nice either. But all of that is not Christine`s fault - I guess you have to stick up to it when you go to B+Bs, especially when they have a community bathroom.

Family-feeling in Jonquiere

If you are visiting Jonquiere, you are hopefully aware that its a francophone area and that the area (and this hotel) are french-speakers. However, the staff does speak some english if you don't speak french. The rooms are basic but comfortable and you have everything you need. The breakfast is excellent and the value for the room and the meal is quite good. Head to the microbrewery a few blocks away for some great beer and a good meal. Its busy but worth it!
