We stayed here when it first opened back up to the public as a B&B.  Jens and Tatiana are wonderful hosts, attended us with care.  Bonus for was was spending an evening on the portico enjoying a bottle of fine wine with them!  This is be a return destination for us without hesitation (we stayed in Spring 2015).

Gorgeous surrounding, excellent hosts!

The house and rooms are absolutely spectacular! From the lighting to mouldings to furniture, you really feel like you're in a Victorian mansion. The owner is also amazing and takes good care of his customers. Breakfast was five star!

Absolutely Gorgeous!

Locust Grove Bed & Breakfast is, in a word, stunning. The manor is owned by a 3rd generation (fine) artist. The interior is adorned with hand-cast plaster moldings, ceiling medallions and other exquisite detail. Paintings, sculpture and other works of art abound.  As for the breakfast: It was a 3-course symphony for the palate.  Locust Grove is convenient to wineries, shops, and downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Unique and glorious B&B

due to the Delta fiasco we arrived later than expected, but a call to James, the owner, took care of that.  From the time we arrived you could tell this was not an ordinary B & B.  The love and care that had been taken to restore this incredible house to it's former glory was evident everywhere.  James was there to great us and started telling us the history of the place and how it's present beauty came about.  He did it!  When you see the care and love that was given to this house by James you appreciate even more where you are.  The room was more than adequate on the second floor with a porch right next door.  There you could have wine, etc. overlooking the wonderful flower garden and all of it's colors.  The rooms have no TV, thank God!, no Radio, but it does have wifi.  I mean are you there to watch Canadian TV or relax.  The Breakfasts that James 'whips up' are fantastic and could very easily carry you through to dinner.  The location is easy to get to and minutes from the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.  A quaint old town with plenty of shops and eateries.
The highest compliment I can give is that we would stay there again, not just for the comfort and convenience but to see James!

A bit of History in a Great Location

For the past 15 years, Jens has been rebuilding the historic building single-handedly under difficult circumstances.  He transformed a single-story building into his two-story Georgian home. 

We spent two nights at the B&B and were greeted by Jens in the hallway of his home.  He gave us a brief summary of the history of the building and his journey as the owner/operator of the B&B. 

As the first guests who arrived for the weekend we got a tour of the three available rooms. Impressive and beautiful.  

The three-course breakfasts were served in the dining room as all guests sat together as if they were part of the family living in Jens home. The food was excellent. Alot of local food products. 

The B&B is a short car ride from the center of Niagara-On-The-Lake and in a great location near a number of vineyards for example, Jackson Triggs, Trius etc. 

We were very pleased with our stay at Locust Grove. We would highly recommend anyone interested in visiting Niagara-On-The-Lake to stay at the B&B. We would also  suggest to Jens to continue offering his incredible breakfasts a bit earlier in the morning.  We were all pretty hungry at 8 AM but neded to wait for the 9 AM start.
