We had an amazing stay, gorgeous views, such a unique place, a true ‘inn’. Self check-in, everything was a breeze. Very comfortable bed, great shower, walking distance to downtown. The breakfast was amazing. High quality continental, delicious coffee… and the morning staff were super friendly and welcoming. This was such a nice change from the usual hotel stays… we are already looking forward to our next stay. 

This Inn is owned and managed by Rob.  He is awesome.  Always available and really knows his town.  Gave us great advice on what to visit, where to eat etc.... Room was great and we really appreciated the breakfast.  We would return and suggest this inn anytime. 

We are five couples who get together once or twice a year for two or three days of friendship, dinners and fun. We've been doing it for more than 35 years and this is one of our finest locations yet.
 
There are six bedrooms and we booked five of them. The last was not booked to other guests, so we had the entire place and lounge to ourselves. The building and rooms have a lot of historic charm and everything was extremely comfortable. 

Continental breakfast was generous with fresh baked croissants, cereals, yoghurt, muffins, fruit, banana bread, hard boiled eggs, OJ, coffee and tea. Peggy was our hostess in the mornings and she was wonderfully accommodating and a joyful presence for starting our days. 

This visit was several days before Christmas, so we took advantage of walking the town of Almonte and all of it's great shopping venues. There are also fabulous restaurants, coffee shops and a bakery that made our days complete.

Definitely a hidden gem! Spectacular location on the river in the heart of town; beautifully natural landscaping and patios for family to range in; gorgeous heritage rooms with big windows, most with river view; home baked and healthy breakfast in sun-drenched back room. We had the place to ourselves for a weekend - eleven adults and four small children - and it was perfect. Special thanks to Peggy who went out of her way to make us comfortable, and to owner Rob who was so attentive to detail. This is a wonderful stay and I highly recommend for any age.

Older mansion, excellent spacious rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds and attentive owners.
The soundproofing in old building being what it is - keep that in mind if very sensitive to noise, the sound does carry a bit in old houses.

Very clean and comfortable, well appointed. Very scenic location . Great meal in Loom Bistro. Almonte is a very pretty town with heritage buildings and great places to eat . Breakfast at the Oat Couture Cafe was memorable. Will return someday soon

The views and the water front is great. The room was very comfortable and clean. The inn has paddle boards which is really fun! I will definitely stay again and bring friends.

Overnight accommodations..horrible winter weather en route..arrivedsafely and staff were immediately helpful. Comfortable room..wonderful late night supper and then early morning breakfast (part of accommodation service). Morning coffee was delivered to my room..and it was appreciated!

An amazing experience! From the arrival welcome to breakfast deliciousness, this venue offers a heritage waterfront getaway with fanatastic ambiance and cuisine. Chef Hunter wowed us with his "Kitchen Creation" to start our morning that featured a combination of tastes - in-house smoked ham, havarti cheese and perfect egg texture. Simply suberb!

We stayed at this lovely spot when we were in Almonte during the Small Halls Festival. It is in a gorgeous historical limestone mansion by the river and the architectural details and grand old style have been well maintained. Our main floor, king bed room was huge and included a sitting room and a riverside terrace. The sun poured in numerous very large bay windows in the afternoon, and the early morning mist rising off the river was peaceful. The en suite bathroom, with high end towels and toiletries, and a very comfortable bed with quality linens made for a relaxing stay. Host Rob was welcoming and accommodating, and the in-house restaurant was a wonderful surprise. The dinner menu was intriguing, featuring local produce, and our meals were both delicious. Breakfast, which was included in the cost, was served in the restaurant, and included a variety of delicious choices. One last luxurious detail: early  morning coffee and tea were delivered to our room — a great touch!

Superb Stay

Lovely Inn by the river in beautiful Almonte

First time in Almonte and staying at this lovely inn makes me want to come back. Very good atmosphere at the shared tapas style dinner last night, and woke up to a beautiful view of a riverside sunrise and fresh ground coffee. I would have to say best inn experience I’ve had in a long time. Staff are friendly, room was very clean. Makes me feel like I never left home. We WILL be back!

Fantastic Service

My wife surprised me with a night's stay at the Almonte Riverside Inn for my birthday.  It only took us about 35 minutes to drive there from Ottawa.  We brought our bikes and went for a 25 km ride after checking in, which gave us just enough time to shower and get ready for our 7 PM dinner reservation.

Our room was right inside the front door and it was well appointed with a comfortable King sized bed, nice linens, modern bathroom, mini-fridge.  It's in a very old (Victorian) stone building and nicely renovated and appointed - I'd describe the decor as somewhere between "minimalist modern" and ornate Victorian.  It's not quite perfect - a few cracks in the crown molding, on the plaster walls and in the tiles around the fireplace but nothing that would make your stay uncomfortable.

Breakfast is included and you order the night before.  They also offered to bring us coffee to the room, which we enjoyed.  If you're ordering the excellent "dark coffee", be sure to ask for extra milk, or milk and cream - we didn't get enough milk with ours!

Dinner in the restaurant is recommended.  We never heard back from the Inn to confirm our dinner reservation until we got there, but we knew there were a couple of decent looking restaurants in town.  Price for the room was about $240 including taxes and our dinner cost about $125 for two including wine after taxes and tip.  Very worth it.  A do again for sure!

Perfect overnight getaway spot

The Inn was quiet and appeared well kept. We enjoyed the chef's menu as well as multiple cocktails from the Lobby Bar.

The food was delicious, meticulously prepared and served promptly. I am fairly confident that the cocktails were the best I've had - very similar to those served in cocktail lounges in Montreal.

We will be back!
