We have stayed at North Pointe last year in May/16. This is our second stay May/17. We get a suite for My wife and I and our daughter. We visit for a competitive dance show my daughter competes in (Just4kicks). The suite is a Queen bed and comfortable couch pullout that our daughter sleeps in. She said it was comfortable. It has a Fridge, stove, microwave, coffeemaker in room. Hair dryer in bathroom. We cooked in suite on Friday, shopped at Walmart ( 5mins) away, cooked dinner. Had gotten milk, cereal, fruit for mornings. Oh, I haven't mentioned the Indoor Pool !!. It was awesome on Friday, after driving up from Coast, a warm pool swim.The North Pointe Inn is right in the middle of Kelowna, as we had to go to Berry Road on one end of Hwy97, and visited the Water front on the North side, both easy destinations from our Kelowna Home.

My husband booked this hotel for us for the weekend. We were told we were renting a one bedroom suite, so we thought we were getting a kitchenette in our room. When we called back to confirm the booking, we were asked if we wanted a one or two queen bed room, so my husband said he through we rented the suite with the kitchenette and asked the difference in price (for only one bed) and we were told it was the same, so decided to keep the suite and brought food along for the weekend. When we got our room, there was no kitchenette and it was not a suite, it was just a normal room. Looks like some updates were done, but we had a gaping hole above the fan in the bathroom (always makes me feel creeped out) and the tub plug was broken (and also had a hole into the tub were it should have been), so a tub update is the biggest repair I think the room needs besides maybe a bigger tv (smallest one I have ever had in a hotel and I couldn't read the guide from in bed, but it did the trick). The fridge was a decent size and very clean (the whole room was very clean) and we actually had extra toilet paper and a decent amount of coffee and condiments (our last room in the hotel beside us didn't even have a coffee pot in the room) so we didn't have to track down a cleaning lady for creamers (usually that's our plan of attack). But the best part and the biggest reason for a 4-star rating was the bed. The pillows were amazing! King-sized and soft but with still enough firmness to hold your head (or shoulder in my case) in any position you need and the comforter was extremely light yet warm and comfortable - I did not want to get out of bed so early and just wanted to snuggle in the goodness! An extra blanket or pillow was not available in the room (I usually need an extra as I am quite cold) but luckily not needed. One of the most decent priced hotels (it's a ways from downtown and the beaches) but a very pleasant stay. There was also nice sized indoor pool although we didn't try it. Would and probably will book here again next time we are in town!

Was unexpectedly surprised

We stayed here for one night as a last minute choice.  Check in was very quick and easy. The outside of the building is dated and gave the impression of being older.  The rooms inside have had a recent upgrade.  Everything was clean and very nice.  The price is very good value.  It was just a bit noisy during peak check in hours as we were located very close to the office but really not too bad.  The bathrooms did not have the same level of renovation and could really use some work.  That is the only reason not to give an excellent rating.  Would stay here again.

Disgusting room, horrific service. We removed 4 spiders from the beds. The toilet obviously hadn't been cleaned in months, there was other people's hair all over the washroom. Fridge didn't work, microwave didn't work. Room stank of cigarettes. Staff was incredibly rude and we were late checking out because they couldn't bother to be in the office. Had to stay 3 nights, didn't get new towels, new cups, nothing without actually going down and begging for it. Owner is obviously very, very cheap. Claims to be dog friendly but then charged $130 extra for dog hair. We were actually here for a dog show so the "hair" complained about was light shedding from a clean, quiet, well behaved show dog. As someone with multiple dogs at home I have NO trouble keeping my place 10x cleaner. I even felt the need to offer some guidance on proper cleaning techniques as this was clearly lacking but the reality is that their goal is to get as much money as possible and do as little work as possible. Left a very bad taste in our mouths as visitors to Kelowna and we'll be sure to advise the kennel club that this establishment does not appreciate the business whatsoever. I can tell you a place like this would never survive where I come from. I think I may seek head lice treatment as a precaution. You'll also enjoy drug addicts in the parking lot, sleeping in the dumpster and blaring music all night if you stay here. What a joke.

Awful

We booked the hotel because we were having a birthday party and my son needed to work early the next morning. It was conveniently located close to his work.
We were greeted with a "You need to have a 100$ damage deposit". We questioned why that would occur, we have travelled the world and NEVER been greeted with this as we walked through the door. She informed us that EVERYONE charges 1 to 200 $. I stated that because of the type of clientele again she said NO, EVERYONE CHARGES A DAMAGE DEPOSIT. Perhaps she should do some travelling to see that the use of a credit card ensures the room will be left unscathed, as respectable people know the standard procedures for renting a hotel room.
