Settled in a quiet suburban area in Burnaby.  Walking distance to surrounding parks and lakes, as well as nearby take-out eateries.  Very conveniently situated near main transportation to and from Vancouver or Burnaby shopping areas.  Out and out self catering with two fully equipped kitchens, dining areas and more.  Do not expect to be served all the time, not that kind of facility!  Even made very good friends with a Chinese mother and daughter in the next room, communicating via Google translate on two cell phones.  Great fun and down to earth experience.  Well equipped and acquainted manor house.

AWAY FROM THE MADDING CROWD

I booked and paid for my friends to stay here based on the one review that was on file at the time of booking.  My friend was going through testing to donate a kidney to me and the pictures were lovely.  What a mistake
The were greeted on arrival and that was the one and only time in two days that they saw anyone.  they were told that they were to make their own breakfast only between 830 and 9 am and they were to clean up the kitchen after they were finished.  no offer was made to cook them a meal and since they had to leave before 8:30 am each morning to get to VGH they got no breakfast.  There was eggs, bacon and toast available in the fridge and milk for coffee - instant coffee.  there was a coffee maker but it was broken.  The décor was appalling and they were given 2 hand towels and 1 facecloth between the two ladies.  they were not replaced in the morning.  Nor was their room made up - they both said they would not return to this place if it was free and they cannot believe that they maintain their license for a B and B.  I feel badly because I booked and paid for this place and had only one good review to go by.  I hope nobody else gets duped.  and the wifi did not work

what a disappointment

This place is not fit to for anyone to stay in. It is very unwelcoming... At the front door are discarded cigarette butts that have lain there for a long time. There did not appear to be anyone responsible to meet arriving guests and it was obvious that our room had not been cleaned recently as there was dust covering surfaces, the bathtub/shower was dirty, the windows hadn't been cleaned for months or longer and the carpet in the bedroom was stained by spilled liquids, none of the bedding matched as if it had been made in a hurry, thrown together. in the kitchen, someone had left dishes in the drainer , rice and food particles in the sink drainer which made me gag! the countertops were not clean nor was the table top .The garbage bins hadn't been emptied for days.It is NOT a B&B , simply a room for the night. We checked out early as we couldn't  stand it any longer.

Scottish visitor

Good marketing job on Air BNB but the palatial home has a hollow empty feel and sound carries very well! The Queen room with attached bathroom is right beside a shared bathroom and there is no sound insulation in the walls. 
The bed has a frame on it with the sharpest corners that took a chunk out of my hubby's leg. 
Then there were another group staying here - young and beautiful girls all wearing their high heeled spike shoes throughout the house...sounded louder than a Pickleball court. The girls were having conversations and again the sounds carried up to our room. I finally let them know how loud they were at 11:30pm and let them know I was getting up at 6am and will try to not be as loud as them.
This place would probably be fine for one large group, not a bunch of different folks from different walks of life and needs.


Noisy and uncomfortable 

Like all the other reviews, I was highly disappointed. This place is not fit for a B&B - it's not welcoming, it's uncomfortable and does not live up to its description at all. A nice big house - cheaply furnished with not food in the house. So weird. And the beds were hard as cement. We may as well slept on the floor. And bring towels and toilet paper - our room had none.
