Went on a trip to Plovdiv with my friends. When we arrived at the hostel the owner was given one hour to prepare our rooms and stuff for this one hour the only thing that was done was that we had the bed sheets tossed on one side of one of the beds, the hygiene of the matresses pillows and the room overall was terrible the floor we were on smelled very bad. There was this alcohol and cigarettes smell everywhere the bathroom was left dirty for a long time and it was visible overall count yourself lucky if you manage to not catch any bacteria or allergic reaction on top of that the prive was way more that it should havw been vounting the fact that nobody took care of that place overall if you are staying despite of that make sure to bring your own flip flops bed sheets and towels just for your own safety.

One day stay at funky monkey's hostel

Pretty cool except for wifi that did not work & the black haired girl receptionist that told us that she had already cleared away breakfast buffet on our last day - we were there at 10:15!!! (even though normally till 11)

Cool except for last morning

Great hostal, very helpful and friendly owner. We had a lovely private room because we travel with our dog who was very welcome here. Dorms seem good too. Good showers and nice breakfast room. We recommend this place!

Great place, even our dog was completely relaxed!

The location is good, you can just walk from there to everywhere. The room we stayed was a private dorm with a balcony, very nice and clean.
I didn´t feel a nice social atmosphere there, the staff does not care about much, there was this guy there, everytime I asked for a beer, or some information and he needed to pause the movie he was watching or something he was doing, he looked so annoyed. He never could help with nothing, like call a cab, information about the bus. Totally useless. The breakfast is included, but was not good as well.

Could be awesome, but not.

The great thing about Funky Monkey Hostel is that once you've been there once, you wouldn't need to know about any other hostel.
I, personally, love the atmosphere, how friendly and helpful everybody from the staff is.

Been there multiple times. Never left disappointed.

The hostel is barely 20 min walking distance from train and bus station and easy to locate. Very close to a lovely park, plenty of eating places. The rooms are nice and clean, provides towels and sheets and breakfast. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I had a great time here. Very good wifi, open balcony sitting space and quiet location. Walking distance to old city.

Ideal place

Great location and friendly staff. The mixed dorm was spacious and had a nice balcony. The tour they run to Budzalah is well worth trying as it is an experience I will never forget! The manager in particular was very helpful, waking up very early to help us catch a cab to the train station.

Perfect location and friendly staff

What a nice place best place to meet new people very very close to town centre walking distance to all shop etc staff is very good and welcoming plenty of space top floor of the building nice views of the city. The best thing I like for this place is that you meet different people for all over the world and one more thing very cheap and breakfast included.
If I ever visit Plovdiv I will definitely stay there.
