100metres from the old town, small pool in the garden. The staff hardly speak english but they try to help you any way they can. Huge rooms and the best shower we had in 3 weeks. Very good and large breakfast

Huge rooms and jummy breakfast

We spent 10 days there, and were not disappointed. No luxuries, nice, clean, comfortable rooms, family owened, excellent price, down to earth place run by down to earth people. Would go back on the blink of an eye. 

Simple, comfortable, beautiful, tranquil and fair. Loved it.

We were disappointed with our stay here,considering it was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed at in Brazil!,but we were there during a Brazilian holiday weekend!
The owner and staff were pretty indifferent and we thought any attention to detail was lacking. ie broken slabs around the pool.
There is no safe,so valuables have to be taken with you.Our room was clean but basic.
We had twenty motor bikes leaving at 5.30am and there was no attempt to limit any noise or disturbance as they left - by either staff or bikers.
On the plus side it is very convenient to the 'old town' just a short walk. the breakfast was substantial and the quality of the food good.

Beautiful rooms surrounding a pool and nice lush gardens. Rooms were large enough and equiped ok. The location of the hostal is only 5 minutes walk to the 'old' town. Note it is only a 10 minute walk to the bus terminal so its possible to walk (no need to get a taxi and pay $10 for the 1 minute drive). The pool was small but OK given there are only a handful of rooms. The owner was very helpful and spoke some English. The breakfast was really very good indeed. Only negatives are that the double beds are very small (for 2 6ft westerners) and one of us ended up sleeping on the bunk bed. Also the breakfast start time is quite late (8.30) this coudl be earlier although on our final day we did request an earlier breakfast time and the owner was accomodating.
