Loved it!! Our stay was absolutely amazing, and the owner was so nice! She really made us feel welcome, and the breakfast was so good! The rooms were nice and spacious, and the cleaning was good! Our room had a fridge too. The WiFi worked the best in the lobby area, but that was no problem at all. We had a really good time there!

We stayed here only two nights but it is really an amazing place. They are so helpful!! In angra dos reis we tried to withdraw money from an ATM, and it said that we had gotten the money and it withdrew from my account but we never got any money. The hotel (we Dont speak portugiese) helped us and called the bank for 30 minutes to help figure it out even though we had already checked out! 

Very clean room and bathroom was very good. Its so cheap and you get a lot more than you pay for. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. 10/10!! Love from Norway

Best pousada!!

I loved this hostel! It was great price, the breakfast was delicious and varied, the service was perfect! I felt very safe and comfortable, the bedroom was very clean and organized, so was the bathroom. It's a 3min walk from te beach and it's very quiet around the hostel.
Very happy with the experience!  

Wonderful

We spend on ilha grande only 2 days, but everything was really cool. The first day we arrived very early in the morning and they offer us breakfast (so we could have 2 breakfast!) . The second day we went to a trip on the island and we could leave there our baggage and have a shower before leave the island..They were so nice and kind! Breakfast good and room clean: recommended!

Very friendly personal and nice place!

We've spent in this Pousada only one night; at our arrival (which was a bit earlier than expected) the owner kindly offered us to have breakfast (so we had 2 breakfasts in the end, for 1 night). The staff is friendly, the location nice (but not as central as other pousadas in Vila do Abrao), the breakfast quite complete. Only negative point is that the furniture is a bit old, the AC was not working and the room was suffering for a bit too much humidity, which was causing some bad smell. Overall anyway it was good value for the money spent there (quite cheap compared to other areas of Brasil)

I'll start by saying I didn't necessarily have a problem with the hotel itself. The cleanliness was average, the rooms were average, the breakfast was average. 

We were on Ilha Grande during a Brazilian holiday, and we struggled to find accommodation for the first few nights. However when we discovered the Porto Abraao Pousada we were surprised to find that we could stay there as long as we wanted. After it had a couple of decent reviews on trip advisor we thought it must be ok, how wrong we were. It was eerily empty, we seemed to be the only guests in the hotel, and for what was essentially one of the busiest times of the year for the island, something didn't add up. 

On the second night we had a friend come visit us and come back to the room for a couple of drinks. They didn't sleep in our room and were there a total of about 2 hours. When we tried to leave the following morning the trouble began. They decided to charge us for an extra person! We couldn't believe it, we thought there must be some mistake. We explained that the person had not stayed over but it didn't seem to matter. We said that at no point was it stated to us that we weren't allowed friends to our room. We have seen in some hotels that state this, but at this particular one there was nothing , even on the piece of paper we signed when we first checked-in.

As we refused to pay they decided to keep us prisoners, locking the gate to the front of the hotel. We thought this was pretty extreme. They then called their next door neighbour over, a 6 5" brazlian man who clearly had anger issues to try and intimidate and threaten us until we paid. While this was happening inside, outside another angry man who looked quite psychotic started yelling at us through the gates, punching his fists and pointing at us. We decided to stick to our guns and said for them to phone the police. After a gruelling half hour or so they finally called the police and they came over. Immediately we knew this was not going to go in our favour as when the policeman turned up he was exchanging pleasantries and shaking hands with the angry man. Although we felt a lot safer with the policeman there we knew we were going to win this one and ended up paying for another person, even though it was a two person room with one double bed.

I think what happened is that this hotel is a little bit off track and they're not very good at advertising themselves, they're clearly not making as much money as they want and in doing so will try and get all they can out of you.

If you care for your safety just stay away from this place.
