A lovely friendly Auberge with a fabulous restaurant in Thulin. It is located on a square in the middle of the village with plenty of safe parking . The proprietors and staff could not be more helpful to make your stay enjoyable.

Wonderful

Always a pleasure to return to this comfortable and welcoming hotel and restaurant.  M. Etienne and his staff are a pleasure, whatever you ask for they provide, nothing is too much trouble..  All the staff have the ability to look after the single traveller. Bedrooms are comfortable and well serviced, crisp laundry and comfortable beds. A varied and well-cooked and presented menu.  A good wine list and good carafe wine as well.
Always a comforting sight, the restaurant is much supported by local residents!


A PLEASURE TO RETURN

Lovely old French Auberge spotlessly clean family run with an excellent restaurant serving freshly cooked local produce and very good value. All the staff were helpful and welcoming and I would like to thank them for looking after my mountain bike. I will certainly stay again.

Superb

A very pleasant hotel. A restaurant/ bar popular with the locals which is always a positive sign. Nice clean room, nice food and excellent Belgium beer, of course! Be sure to visit the local supermarket and buy locally produced butter and cheese!

Nice place with a good breakfast and an amazing restaurant for the supper.

Arrived here during a transit to France. Nice staff and a good hotel with big rooms. Average standard. The town itself looked empty for people. I guess most of them were eating in the hotel restaurant which had some excellent food. Hotel owner very service minded and helpful.

Good hotel in a ghosttown

Everything was really good.  The staff were very friendly and professional.  I was really impressed with my room at this price.  Lots of character, high quality fittings.  Good restaurant.  Certainly not your run of the mill dull novotel.  I left at 7.15 the next morning to get to Brussels airport at 8.15 to drop off the hire car.  Much much better than an airport hotel. I was a little worried before about the room perhaps being over a bar, but my room was in a converted building next door to the auberge, perfectly quiet with a great view of the Grand Place.  In any case, the bar was more of a restaurant/brasserie local rather than a place teaming with noisy Anglo Saxons. Belgium at its best.  Glad I stayed!

Excellent

This was our last hotel after 3 weeks car trip through France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany so we have 10 similar class hotels to compare to this one. And what a joy it was...well located, in the small town of Thulin, for visits to all the major attractions of this part of Belgium and minutes from the French border. Our room had plenty of space, with 2 queen beds, shower, separate toilet, etc. Nothing fancy but clean and very adequate for a couple of nights sleep. 
However, the owners, Vincent and Etienne, are the reasons I recommend this small hotel. You will travel a long way before you meet such helpful and charming hosts. How refreshing to meet people who go out of their way to ensure all their guests are happy and getting the most out of their stay. On top of that, their restaurant serves absolutely fresh, seasonal dishes which are cooked wonderfully. Excellent country cooking, which is appreciated by the local community if the crowd was anything to go by. Make sure you book. We were so pleased with our first dinner there was no need to look anywhere else the following evening. Beer, wine, service were also excellent.
After an early check out, we were one hour into our journey when Vincent called to apologize for missing us leaving and to inquire if we had enjoyed our stay....a first for me and a confirmation what a great hotelier he is.

A little gem

The place is as you might expect - small clean and quiet. Not a 4-star hotel. But the owner is very handsome and polite. We arrived at a very rainful monday evening when the restaurant was closed and he suggested a restaurant about one kilometer away. So the mr and mrs went away under the umbrella and shortly before we reached the goal the owner went by in his car: He had called the restaurant with no reply so he was unsure whether it was open or not. So he offered us a lift the final way - and probably to a second place. But the place was open and also very delightful. So many stars to this place
