24 reviewsHaving stayed at the Gasthof Mitterwirt with a large party of school children, this hotel offered exactly what we needed. The food was fine, although some of the more discerning or fussy palates of our younger diners were not too pleased. However, the hotel responded well to their requests. Breakfast was a traditional continental buffet and guests were allowed to make a packed lunch ready for the slopes. The rooms had character and all the amenities needed, including a bath and shower and flat screen TV. In addition, there were a lot of sociable spaces, which were ideal for our large party. Each floor had a large corridor with couches and chairs and their was a lounge and games room downstairs. There is also a bar, and as previously mentioned this was somewhat smoke-filled due to Austrian smoking laws but there was a large terrace where people could sit outside. Distance to the slopes was about 2KM and we did have our own transport but I believe a Ski Bus runs close by. The Ski hire shop was across the road in the village, which made the fitting of equipment for such a large number of people relatively pain-free. Overall, this is basic and clean accommodation in a beautiful part of Austria and I would recommend this hotel to large groups.
