What a wonderful family run hotel this is, if you are wishing for an authentic Austrian ski experience look no further.

We booked this hotel not sure of what to expect as we were aware it was a little way out of Ischgl and this is where we wanted to ski. It was worth the risk as the journey each morning into Ischgl was easy and reliable. The bus stop is just outside the hotel in the quaint village, it takes approx 15 minutes to get to the main gondola via bus which we did every day. 

The hotel itself is very traditional and the staff are clearly very proud of their well established business. All waiters were very friendly at dinner and the manager also helped my partner each night with an ice pack when he injured himself skiing. 

Rooms again are traditional and typical of a ski resort, the shower and bathroom in general could have been modernised as the shower did not stay in place on its own, however we temporally fixed this and it was not a major issue. 

The food is exceptional and each night you are treated to a 5 course dinner which is authentic Austrian cuisine. You were kindly asked to arrive for dinner by 7.30pm latest so that the staff could serve everyone their home cooked meals.

My only suggestion to those wanting a more lively ski experience is that the hotel is very quiet of an evening and there is not too much going on in Galtur. We found a couple of bars in the village and there was also a restaurant for dinner if you fancied. You can get the bus back into Ischgl but this stops running at 8pm so you will need to cab back (as we did one night and it was approx 30-40 euros if i remember correctly). 

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much and would definitely come back.

Couples first ski holiday to Austria

My husband can almost always find room for improvement but not this time. 
I have coeliac disease and dairy allergies so booking half board is very worrisome but I was perfectly catered for. 
The food is incredible I never knew I could be so excited by a salad bar but WOW! I had a breakfast tray with gf/df options every morning and was always told which hot and cold options were suitable. Coming back to amazing cake or strudel every day was such a treat. The evening meal is unbelievably good. You select your main meal choice the evening before. The waiting staff are all so lovely and excellent at their jobs. The owner and his wife are friendly, super efficient and always on hand to give you local information. 
The jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and many showers were quiet and perfect after a day in the slopes. Each room had bathrobes and slippers with a room number badge for each to avoid confusion in the spa. 
The heated boot room had comfortable seating and the ski room was large and had a table to make adjustments on. 
Our room, 207 was large with super comfortable beds, a sofa, table, large storage area, wardrobe and balcony with a gorgeous view. The bathroom had twin basins and bath with the usual shower attachment, which was very effective. The toilet was separate. 
It’s a couple of minutes walk to the bus stop. The buses are very frequent we never waited more than a few minutes. Galtür is 5 mins and Ischgl is 10 in the opposite direction. We always got a seat on the bus to and from Ischgl because  the stop is pretty much at the start and end of the line. Ischgl has an amazing lift system and is a great ski area. We really hope to return here, we had the perfect holiday. Thank you so much to the owners and staff.

Incredible hotel, perfect stay!

First ski holiday with my daughter.  What a friendly and comfortable family run hotel! Could not have had a better experience. Rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. The sauna and whirlpool welcome after a days skiing.
The meals were fabulous and we especially loved afternoon tea! From the owner down the staff were the nicest people. Efficient, patient and caring. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Peter and to all your wonderful staff.

Maiden ski trip

Excellent traditional hotel with everything you need on a ski holiday.
The staff are all very well trained, professional, enthusiastic and engaging. Bedrooms were very comfortable and a good size for a skiing holiday with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant were exceptional with quality ingredients. The sauna was great after skiing. The bar and lounge area were nice and comfortable. A big thank you to Peter, MaryLou, Thomas & Dami and all the staff for looking after us so well. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent Ski Hotel

6 of us stayed for a week's skiing. Couldn't find any downside with any aspect of the hotel - rooms/staff/food/leisure facilities, and I'm a hard sell. Special call-out to the afternoon snacks, much needed after bashing the Ischgl runs! Well done to the owners and staff.

Very good hotel

3rd visit and still 5 stars in my opinion.

Food was excellent as always. Afternoon tea was fantastic.

Rooms are traditional, clean and comfortable. Only gripe might be that they are a little warm for my taste but an open window sorts that.

Great boot/ski storage.

Lovely spa facilities.
