If you’re lucky enough to get a room at Haus Bergblick, try to be there on a Sunday. Brigitte bakes a cake every Sunday for her family, and guests like us became lucky beneficiaries. We were treated to a savory rhubarb cake, which was just one of many instances of the warm, generous and tasteful atmosphere at this lovely venue. Brigitte was responsive to our every need, not only providing accommodations as cozy as an Austrian down comforter, but also helping with transportation and excellent info regarding the community, services, activities and restaurants of Fuschl am See. Attention to detail makes a big difference to travelers like us, and Brigitte brings that care and attention to everything she does, both in the management of the pension and the refreshing and artful atmosphere of the rooms. The Pension is just outside the main part of the village, so its more than quiet, it’s serene. I could go on about the homemade blackberry jam Brigitte makes and serves for breakfast. Or the honey provided by the beehives on the property. Just know your breakfast will be a delight, the perfect start to a day in the Austrian version of Shangri La. My wife and I are from the California, and we spent a week at Haus Bergblick, hiking in the mountains, swimming in the pristine lake as well as the health club to which we had free access (for the beautiful Olympic-sized, plus pool). Of all the lakes in Salzkammergut, Fuschl is closest to Salzburg. So we also made trips to the big city for concerts and art. We think of Fuschl as the perfect place to unwind and renew. And there is no more hospitable venue to begin that process than at Haus Bergblick.  Just try to include a Sunday.

Austrian Version of Shangri La

We had booked a self contained apartment with balcony. The apartment, though small, was very pleasant and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was over equipped in some areas (pans and crockery) and under equipped in others - no wine glasses and no microwave ware.
There were no easy chairs so if you stayed in (we had 2 rainy days) the choice was to sit on the bed or in the kitchen on a hard chair.
Bed was comfortable but there was only one very uncomfortable pillow per person. The Hotel advertises itself as "Beach" but we were not given directions to this. Breakfast is not included and is 8.5 euros per person for cereals, breadrolls, meat and yoghurt. We only had breakfast the first day. We bought bread and made our own breakfasts after that. The owner will order bread to be delivered for you, but we preferred to choose our own.
This is not a hotel but a self contained B&B. There are no public rooms for guests although the picture suggests that there is a public space (which is why I chose this place). There is no garden or outside space for guests to sit. No possibility of having a drink in the evening before going out to find dinner.
The Haus is 1 km outside Fuschl and the walk down takes about 10 minutes. However, it is a steep hill back up and would not do for elderly people or those who have trouble walking.
The views from the balcony were stunning and Fuschl is a very beautiful place.
The hosts were very pleasant, especially Maurice, who booked us in and made the cakes!

Lovely views

We stayed in one of the self-catering apartments in Haus Bergblick. The apartment was very cute and cosy with lots of wood furnishings.  There was a separte lounge/kitchen area.  It was very tidy and clean. The self-catering facilities were great with an oven, stove, small fridge with little freezer, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, utensils, crockery and pots and pans, as well as some salt and pepper (no microwave or tea/sugar).  Our room had a deck with outdoor furniture and great views over the lake. There was plenty of parking available on site. We found the room slightly cold on the first night and could not turn on the heat ourselves (I think it is all linked to whether the central heating system is on), however it was the Austrian summer so perhaps we were just being a bit woosy!  The owners were friendly and provided us with loads of great information on activities in the area. The town is beautiful and quaint.  It is within easy walking distance from the hotel and you will find a number of restaurants/cafes there, as well as a couple of small superettes.

Cosy clean self-catering apartment in beautiful Austrian town

Have just returned from a four night stay at Haus Berblick . Beautiful rooms with on suite facilities styled in different woods . 
Delightful breakfast room and kitchen bright and airy . Frau Ebner was very charming and helpful and provided gluten free bread for breakfasts .  This is a little jewel sat just outside Fuschl am see and was a real find . 
Very good value for money and I would definately recommend it if you are going to visit this part of Austria .

A great experience

Welcoming B&B just outside Fuschl. Modern feel with great furnishing, private balcony (lovely views of the lake). Modern appliances and lots of wardrobe space. Great hosts who are friendly and very helpful with ideas of what to do - lots of tourist leaflets and guides available for guests. We tried the 3 restaurant recommendations and they were all great - esp. the golf course up the road from Haus Bergblick. They also included a free Salzkammergut card with our stay which gave us some discount on activities. Breakfast is served in a cute little kitchen - again very modern and fresh. Food was all very good and choice was good for a small property. Property has a section of private beach on the lake which is a great spot - especially as a pit stop on the way around the lake. Great value too and perfect location to get to all the nearby lakes and mountains.
