Once we got over the shock of having to cart all our grey water for our 22 ft van (including shower) 150 meters to a dump point or the laundry which we were unaware of when we booked, we realized what a lovely small park it was with grassy easy access sites and if you had children (we don't) the park would be perfect to keep them entertained. Amenities block were immaculate and seemed brand new. Glad we didn't go into the townships of Tuncurry or Forster for van accommodation as traffic, even in May when we went was heavy. I'd hate to visit here during holiday season. We stayed 3 nights and got used to carting grey water and showered in the lovely new clean showers. The issue with the grey water is why I gave it a three star rating. This needs to be made known BEFORE check in.

This would be the best family resort we’ve ever been too. All facilities were immaculate, the units were very comfortable, refurbished, super clean, a well equipped kitchen, beautiful grounds and so much for families and couples to do. It’s was perfect for our getaway … congratulations to the management & staff and thank you for the memories 👏👏👏

The staff were friendly and the resort has a lot of activities for children. but no pool table for adults, The kitchen is small and mostly well equipped. However there is no oven and the fry pans are NOT non stick. The main bedroom has a Queen size bed with only room for 1 suitcase in the wardrobe.  The small 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and a small wardrobe, with no room for suitcases. The Bathroom and Toilet were OK. In Unit 48 the internet signal was low and downloads very slow. The Toilet and Bathroom were OK. However the TV was not capable of showing HD Channels. It was also NOT a Smart TV so we could not access Stan or Netflix, even with our own subscription. In view of above they had the audacity to charge $3 to hire a DVD. (Should be $5 or $10 deposit to borrow a DVD, refundable on return.)

Some good points and some bad ones.

Friends of mine have a Timeshare here, so my family thought we’d come up and stay last weekend, and we enjoyed our time here, I don’t understand all the negative reviews. The lady at check in was pleasant and our room, which had air conditioning and a dishwasher, was in a brilliant spot. I think it’s a child’s paradise, various play areas, a great kid's pool, paddle boats, bikes, small boats on the nearby lake, putt putt and so much more! We will be back and might even look in to the timeshare.

The photos show only the best bits! The pool is lovely for sure and the grounds are cared for. It advertises 90 acres....I had visions of wandering around the 90 acres, not the case. It's boggy and not accessible.  This is a timeshare resort that rents out accommodation to anyone looking for it. If you have timeshare or have used it in the past or are exchanging, beware! This is not what you are used to. The accommodation is basically barracks style layout. all the units are attached with approx 8 feet between all the front doors. Clean but old inside. They are upgrading some units but that wont alter the building layout. During our week there we had six different sets of occupants at each side of us. Lots of kids whose bikes, prams etc were stationed outside our entrance. Cartons of beer cans and tins built up outside their doors. While there  may be 90 acres, only a small amount of this is the resort. With all the land available it is not possible to drive to your unit. One central uncovered carpark, car sits in the sun all day or could get hail damage. Theres a long walk to your unit with luggage and supplies, far enough that they do provide a cart to transport your luggage. Mosquitoes everywhere which I know they cant really do anything about but there is water in the grounds which I know can attract them. It might be great for kids, we didnt have any with us! If you are accustomed to timeshare resorts or exchanging, this is certainly not a fair exchange. It's much cheaper rent for a couple of nights on a booking site like all the people that were there when we were. It's very basic....they sell it on the photos and the grounds, but not a true representation of how it is there, No wifi as it ''was down'' though nobody mentioned it until we asked why we couldnt connect and very poor mobile reception should you require staying in touch with people. Fans only, no aircon.

Basic barrack style

-When booking here be aware that there is no parking at your room and you’ll be in a gravel car park surrounded by large trees, a fair distance from your room. 
-the front desk don’t give you a map or very good directions. You’ll be walking aimlessly with a trolley full of your belongings (hopefully not through the rain)
-The advertised wifi doesn’t work
-The fly screens are dodgy and you’ll be sleeping with mosquitos under sheets that feel and sound like paper
-You’ll pay for an air con room and get a budget heatbox with no aircon.

If your just after a air conditioned family room with a pool for the family to cool off in - save the extra $100-$200 and get a budget motel in Forster. Easily would have been much more pleasant. 

Poor excuse for a resort. A budget caravan park at best. Office staff will walk right past you without even a hello and leave you standing in the heat and point to a box for you to put your key in. Not even ask how your stay was or if they can help you. Upon bringing up issues with management they wanted to argue the first email and didn’t reply to the second. Obviously don’t care about the experience. 

Terrible service, unpleasant stay. Not worth the money. 

Best part about the stay was the kiddie pool.

Basic style time share accomodation with lots of activities for younger children. My husbands parents and relatives all have a time share here so we enjoyed the benefits of that with them.

Each unit has 2 rooms, fans only and no oven. Comfortable beds though which was important! The Wifi is super slow and phone reception in the area is terrible. Be prepared to take a stock count if every item in your unit as they require you to do this and sign for it on departure. We found this rather old fashioned and felt the management and cleaning staff should do a sufficient check before you depart. 

Our family enjoyed our week stay but if you hire something make sure you insist on a receipt. We hired a cot and paid $7 cash on arrival for it, then were accused of not paying it on departure because they had no banking records of it. With no receipt we had no proof and were forced to pay it again. It left a bad taste in our mouth after a pleasant week. This didn’t seem to matter to the owner. We pride ourselves on being an honest family and are happy to pay for the services someone provides but being treated as if we imagined it or were lying made me question if we’ll be back. It’s simply humiliating. Better processes could have avoided it. 

That aside, our 3 year old loved the resort and all other staff were most welcoming and accomodating. 

Overall this place has a nice feel. It has a decent sized pool (Adult and kids splash zone + 2 small side spa), a range of play equipment, a jumping pillow, bbq’s, mini golf and canoes all for free. You can hire small motorised boats and bikes for a fee. Get a receipt! ;) 

It’s mostly well maintained grounds but does give off the feeling that it’s prime days are done. A few things could use updating But we could see they are attempting to do so. My husband has been coming since he was a kid and some things still remain in but the times and expectations have changed.

There is little to offer teenagers but there is a table tennis games area and a common room. 

We can’t give it 5 stars because if our little hiccups but I’m sure other people (like our family) had no problems during their stays. If you have a family I’d still recommend it. It’s neat and tidy and quiet and family orientated. They offer limited accomodation outside the time share component. You just have e to pick your timing. Also no more than 15mins drive to the beach. 5-10 to shops and cinemas.

Basic, a few office issues but pleasant for young families

My daughter loves Tuncurry lakeside resort... this was her 6Th time there. 
Excellent family place... great management and friendly staff. 
Lots to do onsite as well as heaps in the area. Always have great kids activities.

Great family resort

At first impression I was shocked - thought we had arrived at an army camp! Looks are deceiving! Although the rooms are not luxurious they are clean and adequate - except I missed a dishwasher!! The grounds made up for that! Absolutely impeccable - wonderful for kids young and old! Had so much fun with mini golf I almost felt young again! A great week!

Lovely

It's like stepping back in time. Units are fairly average, clean, well appointed but not state of the art. Our family love staying here & have done for many many years. You can be as active or inactive as you like. Everything is included in the accommodation, I think except for bike helmet hire. Tennis Courts, Jumping Pillow, Bingo during the week, movie nights, BBQs, kayaks etc. Additional charges for boat hire (but VERY reasonable prices). Great location, easy driving distance to amazing beaches and coastal walks.
