Absolutely amazing - so interesting and so well displayed. Go on day 1 of your stay in Stanley as it will help you understand the rest of the beautiful town. So much history and easy to read information. We ended up there for about 2 hours! I’m not usually one to read everything in museums but I did this time. It was so impressively done up.

Absolutely brilliant!

After reading all of the wonderful reviews about Heifield House we booked a three night stay  as part of our trip around Tasmania.  On first impression the house is beautiful, and tastefully decorated through out.  We had the Arthur suite which is on the ground floor and overlooks the car park and the main road so the blind had to be pulled down to ensure privacy  this made the room feel dark and small.   But I could live with that as we were only in the room late afternoon and night.
We noted on our return on the second day the bed had been made but no other house keeping had been done,  On the third day after returning home late in the afternoon we found that our room had not been cleaned at all.   Now I don't mind returning  to an unmade bed,  but in the whole three days that we were there the bins had not been emptied once, the toiletries were not replenished, the coffee cups and wine glasses were not washed and the coffee and milk was not restocked.      Also the limited time frame for breakfast was a bit strange, the breakfast room was quite cramped when everyone was at breakfast the same time.   The fresh produce provided at breakfast was nice but unfortunately it  was the same selection each morning.    
I don't know what happened during our stay but unfortunately the previous reviews from other guests did not reflect our time or experience at Highfield House.  

Great start, but downhill from there.

Fabulous en-suite and sitting room accomodation with full views over Launceston. Comfy king bed with a delicious breakfast. Lovely garden sitting area with BBQ and trees full of fruit. Fergus really took care of us!

Lovely stay in this beautifully renovated period home

Love this bed and breakfast , beautifully decorated with all kinds of cushions and throws. 

We had the William Henty suite which got a separate but private bathroom. We wish to have chosen another room yet this was the last available room. We did expect some inconvenience, yet we were more concern if we cause any noise when we were heading to the bathroom at night.  Aside from the separated bathroom, other than that the room is prefect, our window is accessible to the balcony (for all) and most of time, we simply juz owned it ourselves for a glass of wine and simple dinner 

Simple breakfast but definitely freshly made . 

We booked via Agoda so we got problem in getting the instruction of key collection (which appeared to be unreadable message. We were lucky to meet Fergus (kind and hospitable) by the time we arrived. Do make sure u check your mail before your arrival. 

Parking should not be a problem, with a  car park entertaining around 6 cars maybe , and roadside parking is also available. 

William Henty Suite- homey and cozy

Beautiful house, great location........ felt like being part of another era.  Check-in was simple and just as described. Breakfast another nice inclusion.If travelling with lots of luggage, opt for a ground floor room

Well appointed. Excellent location.All necessary amenities.Use lock box for registration as no human onsite except at breakfast. They have their own parking lot.

We stayed in the Welman Room for the 1st and last day of our visit to Tasmania. Highfield House is conveiently located to downtown and restaurants. It is also only ~10-15min to the airport. This is a historic house that has been converted to a B&B and has lovely touches and is a beautiful place. Welman Room had a private bathroom, which was convenient. There was also free parking on site. We also enjoyed the breakfast - fresh croissants, soft boiled eggs, cheeses, yogurt/cereal, cheeses, etc. Lovely and highly recommend for those interested in staying in a unique accommodation with real local flavor.

We stayed two nights over Christmas time in Highfield House. It is very homy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting room setting up beautifully by the owner as well as our own room. Love the green plants throughout the house and the garden. The scents in the house as well as our room is very pleasant and beautiful. We went to city park and had a picnic on the Christmas day using the basket and blanket provided by Highfield House. It is very thoughtful there were picnic utensils provided in the basket, and they are not plastics. Highfield House is also close to everything you would like in Launceston.
