Kia Ora Lodge is a nice, clean, and quiet environment with friendly staff. I spent two weeks there and enjoyed it every day. I am returning there this year. It's close to everything, like shopping malls and restaurants. I highly recommend this lodge.

Kia Ora Lodge is a clean, neat lodge with a nice ambience and friendly staff.

It's been a year since we stayed at Kia Ora Lodge. Yet the experience of this place still stays with me - truly the gold standard! Looking back I can now more than ever say that the warmth and hospitality I experienced there must surely rate it as one of the best places to stay in the world. 

Still one of the best ever

This is my new favourite venue for small/medium sized workshops in Harare; colleagues from regional or international offices all liked staying here. It's in a residential suburb, about 1km from a small shopping centre (Newlands), and not too far from town. (They don't serve alcohol btw) Coffee is much much better than most places.  The owners and all staff are very friendly and helpful.

I spent a week in Kia Ora. It was incredibly comfortable, clean and scenic.

The bedroom is spacious with modern bathroom.  Both are full of light and there is a little porch outside the room surrounded by greenery and flowers. It felt like we were staying in quaint cottage in the woods.

The staff, led by the wonderful Vongai, were very helpful and very accommodating with our needs. Wifi was strong.

Downsides are:
1.  The kitchen is only open for breakfast - meaning having to go out for lunch or dinner. However, there are lots of good restaurants in the neighbourhood.
2. It is out of the way but Vongai and her team have a reliable driver they can call for guests who need to get around.

Kia Ora is my go-to. I had a restful trip even though I was in Harare for work.

Leafy oasis in beautiful Harare

I stayed 3 nights in this lovely hotel, set in beautiful lush grounds. Not too far from Harare City Center but need a car. The room was excellent, spacious, clean and quiet.  The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than ample and varied. I would definitely stay again if I return.

Very comfortable & friendly Hotel

Kia Ora was about to close for renovations just after my stay, so I'm not sure what was and wasn't upgraded or changed – I think my room had already been completed, as it has an absolutely giant bathroom with wonderful new fittings. The room size was also very good, and had a small private courtyard area outside. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were super-helpful with everything including bringing me a plug adapter which I had forgotten to pack! The best part of everything though was the absolutely delicious Ethiopian coffee, served by the most pleasant, friendly, and helpful reception and kitchen staff imaginable. This isn't the fanciest venue, but it is lovely and highly recommended for business travellers who want a quiet room in the suburbs. 

The only down-side is that there's no kitchen or restaurant in the evenings, which means you need to travel to eat out. There are a good number of hotels and restaurants nearby though, a short taxi ride away (lack of street lighting at night means night walks might not be the best idea). 

On the plus side, taking an early morning walk around Highlands is a treat – it is very pretty and secluded. 

I didn't get the chance to use the pool, but it looked very welcoming and I would certainly enjoy lying there and relaxing if I had more time.

Large and quiet rooms, wonderful coffee

We stayed two nights at Kia Ora Lodge and found it charming. The property is well manicured and had an outdoor pool. Our room was spacious with doors to a private outdoor sitting area. The bathroom was large with plenty of towels and toiletries. Our host Vangai was so sweet and served us a delicious full English breakfast. Harare itself is just another big city but if you need a place to stay before heading out to other more besutiful
