Can hear rats crawling in ceiling, bathroom dirty, looks great in pics but don’t be fooled.. 2 guys sleep on floor in reception area on small mattress so if you arrive back late you will be steeping over the bed.

Never again...! 

We chose this hotel after seeing its photo online. The bus arrived to Ha Noi earlier than our plan and we came to hotel around 5:30. We found 2 men sleeping on sofa and the reception area was dark even they shown on website/internet.. that they have 24hrs service. 
We asked for leaving our luggage and somewhere to sit to wait as it was very cold outside. The man still lie on the sofa and doesn't really want to answer when I asked. We have to find somewhere to sit as they used all sofa to sleep. 
I will not recommend this hotel for other people, very bad service. 

Old hotel- unfriendly staff - bad service

The pictures of the room online is not an accurate representation of what the room does look like. We stayed on 5th floor and there is no lift so had to walk up A LOT of stairs to get to our room with heavy bags. The rooms smelt musty and the ceiling was really low. Our first room also had a window but no natural light so was like being in a cupboard. Pros are the air con works well (but can give off a strange smell?), the shower is powerful and hot, it’s a good location close to bars/restaurants and the lake. 
The free breakfast isn’t anything to shout Home about too. We weren’t told the times for breakfast when we checked in and came down one day late (10 am) and were told we couldn’t have anything - fair enough I suppose.. When we did actually make it down it turns out breakfast is a loaf of bread left out with flies all over it and a few plates of uncovered fruit/salad.. also covered in flies. When we asked the guy working for some bread without flies he was a little abrupt, don’t think he understood we don’t like insects in our breakfast? 
Also this one member of staff to be quite rude when we were leaving for Halong Bay as we didn’t book the trip with the hotel (there are much better deals elsewhere). Overall hotel is just okay, good for location but wouldn’t stay here again if we came back to Hanoi. 

Good location, but wouldn’t stay again 

Stayed here our first night in Hanoi and couldn't wait to check out.  The pictures here are not representative of the actual rooms at this hotel.  I would not have stayed here if the REAL pictures were posted.   I give it 2 stars because it very inexpensive and the location is pretty good.  Basic budget room with AC, my shower did not have a curtain, bed was uncomfortable but the sheets seemed clean.  Didn't see any bugs/rats, etc (thanks God!). Service is questionable, did not try their food/breakfast.  You get what you pay for!

Pictures not accurate

I booked a tour through this hotel which was to pickup in Hanoi, get the sleeper train to Sa Pa, and then sleeper train back to Hanoi. It all went pretty smoothly and really enjoyed our tour guide however the train arrived back in to Hanoi at 4.30am and nobody was waiting for us to transfer back to the hotel. We waited and eventually caught a taxi to the hotel. Then when we got to the hotel it was closed but we fortunately were able to squeeze through the entrance and wait in the lobby/restaurant area where we found the 2 reception staff asleep on the couches. They didn't wake up until 6.30am and didn't really care that we had been left at the station. They just said we would have to wait and speak to the manager. We then saw multiple rats running through the reception/restaurant/kitchen area. We didn't stick around for breakfast.
