I am Ambassador level of Bonvoy/Marriott so have stayed at a lot of their properties. Since we have a small dog we find ourselves at Residence Inns across the country. This Residence Inn in Phoenix charged a pet fee of $150 - more than the cost of the room! For a 10 lb little dog. The studio room we got was tiny and not comfortable for two people. The “bathroom” was just a few feet from the bed. The sink area was not enclosed and the toilet/shower area was enclosed with just a glass door - so with two people not much privacy. And the toiletries are ridiculous- ONE small bar of soap, and the smallest bottle of shampoo I have ever seen. Maybe enough for one person with not very much hair. No body wash so have to take the one little bar of soap into the shower. Overnight parking was $38 which seems high too. This hotel is next to the convention center so maybe it is made for the single business traveler who is only there for a day or two. But still — not a comfortable place and definitely not good value.

This new hotel is wrong in a number of ways. Hope this Residence Inn is not the wave of the future for this brand!

I completely forgot to fill out the survey ! But I wanted to thank you both, we came all the way from New Jersey that night and seeing welcoming faces felt super nice, the night audit and eng person TY!

This Residence Inn is in desperate need of full renovation! The rooms are old and worn with smells. The beds are very old and so are the comforter, furnishings etc. The area around this hotel is a bit sketchy, not walking distance to anything! The pool was disgustingly green and wasn't closed for 2 days sitting green in very hot weather then they closed it indefinitely.  For the prices this Residence Inn charges I would never stay here again unless fully renovated.

Needs Renovation Bad

The room type I originally booked was no longer available - so they upgraded us to a Penthouse but kept it at the same rate - which was really nice! More space than we needed....but was nice. This property needs a little TLC compared to other Residence Inn's I have stayed at - I had about a 1 inch gap at the bottom of our door which let cold air in, furniture was old, carpet was outdated, didn't really use the kitchen this time. But I can't really complain - the breakfast was great and the staff was very kind, which is definitely towards the top of my list. I appreciate them - but would like to see this property get some much needed updates, not just additional coats of paint on top of the existing 42 coats :)

Great breakfast!

This hotel is in desperate need of renovation.  The rooms are spacious but just never felt clean.  When you stay at hotels you try not to think of those before you, it's gross.  However, with the carpet and the mattress at this property, it's hard not to.  The staff is nice and housekeeping does an outstanding job of trying to keep this place clean.  But there is only so much you can do.  I did not feel clean at this property.  Marriott step up and do a renovation please.

Tried Hard But...

I arrived after a long day of travel to this hotel. In the past, I always like this establishment because of great location, quality staff, and terrific rooms. This visit was really disappointing: please see the photos I’ve attached below. I sent an email to the general manager for this property, and no replies. The front desk clerk was very nice and reassigned me to another room. This property is just dated. The rooms are old, there’s a odd smell to many of the bathrooms , and the door to room 913 doesn’t really close smoothly . 

Horrible room and zero follow up on complaint 

Upon a late check in we were greeted very nicely. We stayed in room 1826. We noticed right away this Marriott is not ADA compliant. No elevators in our area. Only stairs. The place seems to be older and could use a facelift. But I could deal with that. What mortified me was the condition of the mattress in the couch. Gross! Shame on you. The tile in the shower could also be fixed properly to look nicer. I did hear the freeway noise but honestly was not too bad. I would have rated three stars but I gave an extra star due to a wonderful lady named Jackie. Jackie is one if the ladies that cooks and cleans up the morning breakfast. While the front counter employees completely ignore you when you walk in she was the only one that had a beautiful smile, asked how our morning was, what our plans were going to be for the day etc. She made us feel welcomed. Great job Jackie!

Not Up To Marriott Standards

Stayed here for a week in Dec 2019 while my house was getting repaired. We had a 2 bedroom loft with 2 full bathrooms for 3 adults. Very clean. Plenty of shower towels. Beds were super comfy. Decent size living room with a full kitchen. We had a problem with the TV in the loft and maintenance showed up and changed out the cable very quickly. The free breakfast is absolutely amazing! I'm a big breakfast eater and I was very pleasantly surprised at the food selections.  Very happy to have stayed here.

Great place to stay

We arrived around 11:00pm on a Friday night and could instantly tell we were not in a good area. Our room faced the highway and it sounded like the cars and trucks were literally right outside our door. There was no parking near our building, building number 4, the closest spot we could find was passed building 8 clear on the back side of the property. My husband used the restroom in the lobby and the stall door had been kicked in and no longer worked properly. The room is spacious like a studio with bed, couch, small dining table and mini kitchen. Luckily our room was on the ground level. If your room is on the second level know that the only access is stairs. Not looking forward to our two nights here. 

Not impressed 

Very large room with everything you'd need for an extended stay. The property isn't new but other than the condition of the stairs and some wonky light fixtures, this is a good place to stay. We used the exercise room and the included breakfast.
