This place look attractive and is very conveniently located within walking distance of the main strip of businesses in Nashville. However, looks aren't enough. When we arrived, I discovered that the smoke detector was broken, as it gone. When I reported this to the manager on duty, her only response was that it was going to be fixed "next week" and that the hotel was full so we couldn't be moved. In addition, the latch on the sliding door on the balcony was broken. The door couldn't be locked. Luckily, we were on the second floor, which reduced the possibility of a break-in. Last, the beds squeaked so bad I though I was in a comedy skit (good thing the missus and I are too old to anything that would make the beds noisier). All in all, I was severely disappointed with this place, and we won't be back.

Guilded Motel-8

Rooms were quite sizable for a hotel. The large furniture was grand and a fun touch. I appreciated the well stock Kitchenette plus full size refrigerator, as it’s nice to be able to prepare some meals at the place you’re staying. Definitely recommend trying out the Jacuzzi bathtub! 👌

First Visit to the Grand Wood

The good:  location, very nice kitchenette with new Keurig coffee makers, great TVs and cable/smart TV selections.  Roseanne at the desk was very friendly and good to work with when getting reservations set up.

Not so good:  The furniture was huge and uncomfortable.  There were no coffee tables or end tables next to the large sofa which meant there was no where to set glasses or plates.  We lifted the sofa cushions and there were a lot of old food crumbs.

The fireplace did not work and that was very disappointing.  There were no instructions to even tell you how to turn it on but I did ask and nothing worked.

The mattresses were old and very uncomfortable and sat very low making it difficult to get in and out of bed.  The nightstands  were extremely high making it hard to lay in bed and reach for anything. 

The tub in the bathroom was very high and it was hard to get in and out with no grab bars.  

Electrical outlets were few and far between.  Many were behind the heavy furniture and not accessible.

The website said no pets yet I heard a lot of dog barking throughout our stay.  I have 3 dogs of my own and have to deal with that at home but didn't expect it there.

There are no smoking signs in the rooms but was smelling strong weed as we walked up to our room.

Overall an uncomfortable stay and checked out a day early.  Would not come back for sure.

Very disappointing stay

This Inn is a perfect location to enjoy Nashville.  You can walk everywhere from here.  The Inn is very nice. I have stayed here every year for the past 3 years when I come for girls weekend trips. The units are large so you have plenty of room with several people.  It is really nice to have the full bath and in the bedroom, you have a sink with mirror.  This helps for someone to get ready while another person is in the bathroom. The porch or balconies are very nice to sit and enjoy your stay and to take in the town.  I recommend this place for your stay in Nashville.

Great Location/Great Place to Stay

Great location. Perfect amount of space for a friends weekend.  Loved being close to town. Super clean, great parking, excellent staff to work with.  Will definitely stay again.  The bedroom was super comfortable; fold out couch is like most fold out couches.

Girls Weekend

My husband and I spent the Memorial weekend at this property.  We had a wonderful stay and are planning to return in the future if we can.  The property is quite nice.  Our suite was really up to date and stylishly decorated.  The bed was comfortable and the furniture was lovely!   Carrie took great care to make sure we had everything we could possibly need!  I do recommend this property-  the location in Nashville is also fantastic

A Great Inn

Much better than expected. Beautiful room. Lots of space. Just off main street so easy access to all the shops. Tabitha at the front desk was friendly and had good recomedations for breakfast. Will definitely be staying there when we return to the area.

Great place to stay

We were using our room for a meeting. The furniture on the webpage looks nice, but it is the most uncomfortable furniture I think I’ve ever sat on. The mattress was bad as well and side rails are thick and overall, was hard to get out of the bed because of it. When we arrived, food from the previous guests was still in the fridge and upon further inspection, clothes were still in the night stand. I was a little concerned with the overall lack of a thorough cleaning. We left a day early because the mattress was so uncomfortable and overall not cleaned.

Fairly uncomfortable

Great location to stay while visiting the shops in Nashville. Room was clean and as described. Staff were personable and offered excellent communication, including an early check-in.  Will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I needed a good getaway and this was perfect!   The newly remodeled third floor suites were modern and spacious with new furniture.  Two big TVs, fireplace, jet tub.   Very clean.   We enjoyed our balcony which looked out over Nashville.  The location can’t be beat for ease in walking to shops and restaurants.  Andrew was very personable.   My understanding is he has just taken over since March and is getting the place back into great shape.   His priority seems to be rooms, and we told him our WiFi was sketchy.  We appreciated having a kitchen.   We stayed here years ago, and it was enjoyable then, but so glad someone is bringing it back to a high quality Inn.   Give it a try!
