The exterior lighting is very poor and made bringing in suitcases dangerous due to steps. The accommodation is substandard! The place is dirty inside and out. This property is in extreme need of being updated. The price per night is outrageous for this stay.

Very Bad Choice

Simply the best place I have ever visited, wonderful place, very good service, very good food, the best in what they do, I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to spend a nice time with family and friends. 

The best place

My wife and I reserved two nights at Cowboy’s Lodge for a quick winter visit to Yellowstone. When we got to the room, we noticed the wi-fi didn’t work. We told the desk clerk, who checked and said the router was turned off. He turned it on and we went to dinner, thinking all was well. But when we returned, there was still no wi-fi, and the internet-based television also didn’t work. 
Because of the hour, we waited until morning and reported both out. The desk clerk said he would have someone fix it while we were in the park that day. But when we returned late afternoon, both wi-fi and TV were still out.  The desk clerk came to our room and fiddled with the controls, and finally advised us that the antenna must be down and there was nothing he could do. 
In Yellowstone in January, the days are short and the nights are long. We had no wish to spend the night with neither wi-fi nor TV, so we threw our bags in the car and left. When we got home, I emailed the manager suggesting a refund was in order because the motel did not provide the amenities their website promised. No response. I sent another email a week later. No response, no apology. 
So buyer beware: The amenities promised on their website are not really promises, just “maybes.” And you’ll pay whether Cowboy’s Lodge delivers or not.

I wish I had stayed another night here in Gardiner.  This small town got everything you need include grocery store, gas station, souvenir shops and restaurants. My family actually have best night sleep in Cowboy's lodge during our road trip to Yellowstone.  The only complaint is the dim light.  

Nice cowboy decors. We love the big TV in each room and fully equipped kitchen.

We were staying at Chico Hot Springs and went to Gardiner looking for a brewery. We came across Cowboy’s Lodge & Grille. We decided to stop for a drink. Atmosphere was cozy! Staff was quite friendly. Our server Vitalii was awesome! He made us feel welcome by visiting with us. He suggested beers and wines for us to try. The Brickhaus Blood Orange Blonde and Three Thieves Cabernet Sauvignon he recommended were the bomb! He even shared some local history. We would highly recommend stopping for a beer, glass of wine, and a bite to eat.

Chillaxing Time!

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. Cowboy's Lodge has BED BUGS. I stayed one night and got bitten all over my body. The infestation was that bad. Not only did I have to contend with painful, itchy, horrible bites for the next month but COWBOY's LODGE AND GRILLE REFUSED TO ADMIT THEY HAVE BED BUGS. They refused to reimburse us even though we paid for 2 nights and could not stay there a second night since it was crawling with blood sucking disgusting bugs. We had to pay for another hotel room somewhere else for premium rates because it was last minute booking. They denied the whole thing and tried to tell us we were making it up. Even though I had bites everywhere and we found LIVE BUGS IN THEIR BEDS. I spent my trip to Yellowstone suffering pain and discomfort and it was almost ruined. IT WAS HORRIBLE. Since they refused to admit they have bed bugs they WILL STILL HAVE BED BUGS. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

BED BUGS!!

Alex was amazing!!!  The fried cheese curds with huckleberry habanero sauce was delish!  Not spicy and very flavorful.  Had the Outlaw burger.  Hand pressed buffalo patty topped with sliced filet mignon, cheddar and more of the huckleberry habanero sauce!!!  We added roasted jalapeños and it was to die for!  One of the best burgers I’ve had in quite a while!!  Thank you Alex for your great service and thank you Cowboy’s Lodge and Grille for the much satisfies full belly!  A++

Great food- great server!!!!!

This place is Amazing!  We are in Gardiner for 3 nights and will have all of our meals here!   The Chef is New Orleans trained and it shows!   Mark was our server and he was great.  They are doing their best to meet all of the CDC requirements so it takes a bit to be seated but is is worth the wait!   

Best meal in a long time

Best burger ever! They have an amazing customer service! Very nice people! Really nice town and super closed to the park! Lot of Bears and Woolf ! Had the best time ever! If you riding a motorcycle this is the place to stop by for lunch or dinner! I been in the road for a week and stopped at the Cowboys lodge and grille and they were fantastic!

My room was a loft above the restaurant. There were two available with a shared kitchen dining area between the two. I only used the room itself.  I arrived the weekend of shelter in place in March. The owners were very accomodating and after a long day in Yellowstone took my order for dinner and even brought it to my room Nice view of river and slept well. The food was excellent. I had country fried steak, incredible home made green beans, mashed potatoes, and a home made slice of apple pie. For me it was a great place to sleep after my photographing the park. Wonderful, salt of the earth couple that owns this!
