My family purchased time share weeks in 1990 and have enjoyed family vacations at Atalaya every summer since then.  We are now enjoying the beach with the fourth generation since our purchase.  We have found each unit we have stayed in to be clean, comfortable and exactly what we hoped for!  The staff has changed from time to time but have remained friendly, helpful, responsive, and respectful all through the years.  We are looking forward to our 34th summer at Atalaya and can’t wait to be at our “happy place” once more.

4 Generations of Fun

I feel very fortunate to be an owner in 1 of the units in Atalaya! The staff are superb, always willing to go the extra mile. The building is maintained very well, Garden City Beach is beautiful, the sunrises are spectacular, I just love it here!

A little piece of paradise on Garden City Beach!

My family has enjoyed Atalaya nearly every year since around 1986. We have so many great memories!  The location is perfect. It’s away from the typical Myrtle Beach crowds but definitely close enough to wonderful restaurants (yay for being close to Murrells Inlet!) and lots of other activities.

Atalaya Towers is just right!

Minus the ghetto company we booked it through this place was AWESOME! The check-in was clear and very detailed. We had one small issue in our shower that was fixed immediately. The staff was amazing and so helpful! They gave us great recommendations for restaurants. Being able to walk onto the beach was heavenly! The rooms were clean and large for our family of 6. We will definitely come back!!!

Great place to stay!!

I would recommend Atalaya Towers if you are looking for a resort in the Myrtle Beach area. The resort is right on the beach and all of the units are beachfront. There was maintenance construction going on so we were not able to use the indoor pool which was disappointing. We had a minor issue with the coffee maker and the resort was very prompt at getting us a replacement. I got a call mid-week to ask how it was going - that was a nice touch. 

Good location

Our stay was great! Room was very clean and the parking was right outside the building.  We had no issues but i do wish checkout info was a little more clear.  We had to leave before the office opened and I had questions.

Great place!

Been staying here for 30 years and first time booking through Expedia and we had a great experience.  Super easy, staff super attentive, and great location

I absolutely love it here, have been here several times for a week at a time. Snowbird get away

First time staying here and we absolutely loved it!! Great Location and our condo was clean and spacious! Will definitely stay here next time!

 Many of the questions asked pertained to hotels, these are condo rentals,  therefore I feel like some of the questions did not apply.

Sister Trip

My sister and I stayed at Atalaya from Nov. 23-27, 2021.
I had a 3 bedroom in case anyone else wanted to have Thanksgiving at the beach.

Several days prior to the reservation, someone from the resort called to confirm the reservation and give me the code as I would be a late check-in.  We arrived around 10:30 p.m. on the 23rd.  I tried the code in the front door several times.  Alas, fortunately, a lady who was in the pool let us in.  I looked everywhere for the lock box – only to discover that it’s quite nondescript and outside.  NO signage was anywhere to guide the way.  

I called Atalaya and the RCI 800 number – all to no avail.  Instead of having an on-call person, all I got was a recording.  I left messages, and they called back – 12 HOURS LATER!!  Not a good start.

There are signs all over about all sorts of stuff – but NOTHING to guide you to the lockbox!  After accidentally locating the lock box and retrieving the keys, we went up.

The good – the location is excellent – directly ON the beach.  The condo was spacious, clean and had a good size balcony overlooking the ocean.  There is also a nice ground-level deck area so you can sit outside.  Plenty of closet and dresser space.

The less than good.  There are no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms nor can you open ANY of the windows in the unit – not even a smidge – they are totally glued shut.  The sliding glass door in the master and the living room open – that’s the ONLY fresh air possible.  So, if you’re in the other 2 bedrooms, you have no circulation and kind of suffocate while sleeping.  Also, there is no television in the 3rd bedroom.

The appliances are fairly new; however, the dishwasher doesn’t fit properly, and you can clearly see all sides as the installer just slid it in.  The trim finishing work is completely missing.

The welcome coffee packets were non-existent.  No bathrobe hooks are in the bathrooms.  Shampoo is provided, but no conditioner or lotion.  The vanity must have come from a children’s store – it’s WAY TOO SHORT.  Instead of placing the dish soap under the sink, it was wrapped with towels, etc., and it leaked everywhere – so all of that was useless.  Also, I was very happy I brought my own blanket for the drive down.  NO blankets are provided.

Except the view, I was really disappointed with just about everything at Atalaya.  Their theme must be “as cheap as possible.”
