I booked this for my 40th in the winter (i'm only writing now as its being going through small claims court) - The place is a NIGHTMARE...broken boiler in one of the wings meant the house was freezing and we had to wear our coats inside, meaning the swimming pool was definitely unusable, water didn't work in most bathrooms, there were leaks through the ceiling, multiple powercuts, no keys for the music room as advertised and when we asked housekeeper for help she went awol. It then took 2 months of trying to get our deposit back, DAILY calls to their office from different numbers as they kept blocking our numbers! till finally it was returned. We have been to the small claims court and won. Sadly due to a loophole in the system they've avoided bailiffs and are still taking bookings. Please avoid at all costs!

The whole house had 1 working shower, mouldy dishes in the dish washer, rotting clothes in the washing machine and an overwhelming smell of sewage. Do not be fooled by the lovely looking exterior, the reality is a rip off! We were also denied a deposit refund after leaving the house cleaner than it was on arrival. No where near worth the £££!

STAY AWAY!

I've woken up cleaner on many a Monday morning at Glastonbury festival. The lack of any hot or at times cold water in this establishment inhibits one's ability to remove the inevitable build up of detritus caused by the fact that this place needs the sort of clean normally reserved for a murder scene in order to make it inhabitable.
But at least you'll get your deposit back, oh wait no you won't! Avoid.

Terrible. Very poor cleaning standard, broken door in cottage where we stayed, stinking rancid unemptied dishwasher full of rotten food covered plates, unemptied washing machine almost as bad - forced to evacuate by the unbearable stink. AVOID THIS PLACE.

I went to a party at this house recently & as I walked towards my rented chalet a smell of dog poo greeted me, it was everywhere, then it was on my daughter's shoe!! Before we could settle into our room, a lot of cleaning & removing dog poo from the area ensued.. Not a good start to the weekend...
My shower was freezing & was more like being spat on slowly than being immersed in hot water heaven.. you needed a shower to wash off the dirt accumulated from the house & chalets itself as it was definitely not clean by anyone's standards to put it mildly...!! After asking around other guests, it seemed there was only one person who had a good working shower & the whole property had been rented out for the event so meant only 1 means of decent cleaning between the whole party!!  There were no staff on site all weekend which was very concerning as no help if anything had gone seriously wrong.. how can this be ok or even legal?? We were told the owners very elderly mother lived in the grounds but she was hard of hearing & infirm, another lady visited her briefly to check on her but was unable to answer any of our queries..
We had 2x Z beds in our room both of which were bent & 1 completely useless..
Other complaints in other rooms were mould, very bad sewage smell, filthy rooms, broken beds, lack of kitchen facilities & uniformly terrible washing facilities, plus a multitude of other issues...
To top this the owner refused to give our friends any deposit back (a large sum of money) even though there was no dispute, was left in much better condition & he'd agreed to give it back but then became uncontactable!!
Totally unsuitable for anything but a bad experience for an extortionate amount of money...

RIP OFF DON'T BOOK!!!

I stayed her earlier in the year for a friend's 50th Birthday party. There were 120 of us and we were looking forward to a fantastic weekend together. We were all allocated rooms and on first look things we're ok but a bit shabby but once we got to our room the blind on the window didn't work meaning we couldn't open the blind without a struggle  - and then it wasn't properly open. I took a shower one morning and the shower head was not held up by it's holder meaning I had to hold it with one hand all the time - not good for washing your hair. Then half way through washing my hair - head full of shampoo the water simply stopped. I had to sit in the cold covered in soap for 15 mins before I could finish my shower.. Not the best way to start your day. On looking for a bottle opener -despite the 2 kitchens we couldn't find one after lots of searching. It's a shame as it could be amazing there if they just spent some time and money fixing things as the state of the place was way below standard and what was paid for.
