Beds was OK and comfy was just surprised at the price was 100 pound for 3 of us I always thought hostels were cheaper  tge nxt either stayed at another hotel for 70 for all 3 of us with breakfast don't think be using hostels again worked out over 30 odd pound each

nice rooms,  staff were great as able to change a room as my girlfriend was  having problems with her legs hurting. Shower and toilets clean. Plenty of plug sockets in our room. Happy with our stay.Thanks

Great Youth hostel

A very warm welcome, clean and comfortable room, good facilities and excellent on-site cafe serving a much better range of breakfast options than a typical Youth Hostel.  Would certainly recommend! 😊

A happy stay!

I stayed here with my friend the night before the summer solstice and I have to say I really enjoyed myself. We booked two beds in a six bed room and much to our delight, we were the only people in the room that night. The room was spacious and had a handy ensuite. 
We used the kitchen to make a big salad and found that the kitchen had everything we needed. We ate our dinner in the large conservatory!
The next morning we explored the big garden and were delighted to find that the hostel garden turned into a rare breeds farm! We saw guinea pigs, pygmy goats, sheep, peacocks and plenty of other farmyard animals. 
We also stopped for lunch in the cafe/farmshop and had an amazing full english breakfast. I had the vegetarian one and it came with all the trimmings AND a cup of coffee for only £10. 
I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area and I couldn't help but think as I was exploring the rare breeds farm how perfect it would be for kids. 

Loved our stay! 

We arrived at the hostel and realised we had no milk or wine. Had no idea that we could get both fresh milk by the bottle and local wine from the on-site vineyard next door!  We all had a comfortable night in the hostel where we enjoyed dinner in the conservatory. In the morning we took the kids to feed the animals and watch pig racing on the farm. The boys also had a blast in the play area and trampolines. Highly recommend for a night or two as a family.

Great for families

Really great place to stay with a car. Marleen said her best English breakfast ever, lovely thick tasty solid farmers bacon and proper sausages whilst we had delicious Eggs Royale and Eggs bendict cooked by the talented Tracey the English ex Hong Konger. The coffee was gorgeous with locally themed latte art - ask for it. 
Slept well in an ensuite enjoyed the lounge and also peaked into the large conservatory.  Next to a lovely animal farm and for the Dads some fine Decanter award winning English ‘Champagne’ from the area called Bluestone. 

Only missed out on  being able to get onto that balcony and enjoying  glasses of bubbles whilst sunning ourselves and soaking up the vineyard view and trampolines. I think it was off limits. 


Cholderton ‘Stonehenge’ Youth hostel v good

Very pleasant place, great and lovely location, rooms very cosy and well equipped. Friendly staff, always recommend lovely places to explore in the area. It’s been our 3rd visit and definitely book it again when in the area. Highly recommend!

Great place & location

Who would believe that just 10 minutes from the  A303 there could be this haven of peace and tranquility? 
Having stayed here before, I knew what to expect. However many improvements to the surroundings have been made since my last visit. The grounds are beautiful and spacious, so nice to stretch your legs in pleasant surroundings  after a long drive. 
Staff as always, helpful and friendly. This is a real home from home.

Peace and tranquility

We loved our stay at Cholderton Youth Hostel... it was the perfect place to rest our heads after getting married on the attached Cholderton Charlie's Farm - some of our family and friends also stayed at the hostel.

If you are visiting Stonehenge, and have a car... or if you're attending a function on the adjoining farm, this is the most cost-effective place to stay! The staff are ever so friendly, and will do anything they can to make your stay more enjoyable...

We got married on the farm, though weren't sure about staying at the hostel on our wedding night...however they went above and beyond to make our room as cosy and romantic as possible; chocolates, a heartfelt message, a change of the room layout to make a double bed, and wine from the adjoining vineyard too! Bonus, no taxi required...

You can utilise the communal kitchen to make your own meals, or.... pop over to the Cafe through the adjoining door from the Hostel for tea, cake, sandwiches, pizza, chicken nuggets, salads and more... we invited family members back to the farm the day after the wedding, to catch up on the event and enjoy quality time before travelling home - the staff were excellent, the food was fantastic  and they even reserved a table for our family free of charge.

Our mattress was a standard hostel mattress, no lumps, just a nice foam core, and clean white linens - the shared bathroom was also clean, with hot water even in the early hours

We found it would be the perfect place for a family to enjoy a long weekend... the free access to the children's farm, complete with animals and trampolines! would make for a great, cost-effective weekend for a young family. (we saw plenty go families doing this during our stay!)

Family Adventure - Solo Traveller or... Wedding Party!

As opposed to other reviews I didn't find the mattresses lumpy. The placed is cleaned by Michael, a formidable gentleman from Barnet way, who does a magnificent job. The manager Joshua is a very personable Young gentleman who I understand is recently single so book now ladies to get a slice of that pie. My 9-year-old loved the petting farm which is head and shoulders above similar places I've visited.
