This B&B offered what we needed, a central location and a base for a fair price. 

The B&B is a bit faded and could do with some TLC, things do seem in the cusp of breaking. The door handle to the entrance to was lying by the door when we came back one time. Our door to our room could easily be broken in too as the lock was flimsy, which was unsettling. The smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night, so the safety measures are still working well!  

The owners were informative and knowledgable. John provided ample knowledge on the area. 

I don’t think I would stay here again, mainly due to the sense of security and safety. While it is a good price and location, the Premier Inn was only £20 more a night and would have had more space and secure locks.

Basic accommodation

Well what can we say what a dump hole.the land lady is ignorant and abrupt. The place is filthy dust cobwebs every where looks like it has never been hoovered.shower doesn’t get hot no cold water in bath we were in room 6.50 steps to bedroom what a joke.quilt covers look like they never been washed.laid in bed looking at spiders on cobwebs obove cupboard.very tight on breakfasts the hole place needs a deep clean and new land lords to old and tight.here Edith the lesson.

Dump hole

I booked this place on Booking.com. Having read the reviews, it sounded ideal. I am not sure who wrote the reviews, Shakespeare himself, maybe? They must be extremely old! We arrived approximately 30 minutes before our scheduled time and were told that the room was not ready. Fair enough! We purchased our parking tickets and were told to come back in about one hour. We came back in about 2 hours and were shown to our room, or should  I say broom cupboard? There was not much room and it was so claustrophobic, that we had to open a window. OK, we had the usual complimentary  tea, coffee etc; but the place was not the cleanest! A chandelier type light, above the bed was covered in cobwebs! I actually thought it was Halloween! On further inspection, I found that the wall lights, skirting boards and radiator in the bathroom were THICK with dust! This prompted me to look behind the bed...... YUK! I wish now, that I had taken photographs as other guests have done. The only saving grace were the breakfasts which were good, but I dread to think about the cleanliness of the kitchen! Also, the parking and location were ideal. The gentleman of the establishment was quite pleasant, but his wife, well, enough said!! 

Dulux paint and Dyson required!!

Given 5 out of 5 as we loved location ,traditional homely feel of b and b ,hosts were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good too. Not understanding previous review of abrupt and rude landlady as we found her great to talk too ,on arrival at 11am I pulled up whilst wife nipped in to get parking ticket which costs 3 pound ,this allows you to park right next to hotel on quiet side street and informed us that they already had our room ready so we could check in early which was a bonus ,in fact during our stay she was very complimentary to us  and personally I like people who are "straight John bull" and say what they mean .
This isn't a  5 star hotel and at price we paid we didn't expect it our room (room 6 ) had very comfy bed was quiet had powerful shower ,decor and fittings  are  matched for period of house ,yes certain areas could do with lick of paint but I would not hesitate to recommend this property to someone visiting for a 2 or 3 night stay to Stratford ,parking is next to hotel and all amenities are within 10 min walk Inc station which on check in John gave us a map and took time and trouble to mark places and pubs etc worth a visit ,our favourites were the Coach house and the Keys for live entertainment fri/sat night ,The Garrick ,The Windmill and The White Swan for a drink and Rose and Crown if you want sports ,
In short I would rather stop at Courtlands than a premier inn which is similar pricing particularly if on first visit to Stratford and don't want to pay 5 star prices ,thanks again to our host for a great stay  and this was first time on a 2 night stay in traditional type hotel that we have had bed made up and room tidied after first day.

Excellent value for money ,great location,great hosts

Well, what can I say, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ absolutely not. Really wish I had read the TripAdvisor reviews as we definitely would not have booked the Courtland.
From our arrival we found the landlady very rude and abrupt, she definitely needs to learn some manners, can't believe they are still running a B&B.
The whole property needs a complete clean, the whole place hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner in months, the property is in desperate need of renovation.
Although the sheets were clean, the same cannot be said of the duvet cover & pillow cases, they definitely were not.
Was told the shower was a power shower, again, this was not the case.
The landlady pestered us into writing in the guest book, she was very insistent about it and told us off that we hadn't signed it when we arrived but we were never asked to do so.
We will definitely not be returning to the  Courtland.



Courtland  - NEVER AGAIN

We have been coming to Stratford-upon-Avon for many, many years and have stayed in a variety of guest houses and hotels.  I am so upset about our experience in this particular guest house.  My husband and I treat ourselves to an  annual pre-Christmas visit.  This year's has been marred by unsuitable,  dirty, tiny accommodation.  Bathroom very tired. Luke warm shower. Taps need securing.  Filthy shower. Whole place needs a thorough deep clean.  Such a shame because the bed was small but very comfortable.  Breakfast was lovely but will not visit again.  

So disappointed! We love Stratford upon Avon

I can’t recommend this lovely B&B highly enough. The moment you set foot into the building you are warmly greeted and given local information and recommendations to make the most of your stay. The room was clean, comfortable and the bed super comfy - the en-suite was also clean, spacious and with complimentary toiletries. The breakfasts were delicious and generously portioned. If we return to Stratford then this is the place we will be sure to return to!

nothink to say about this place apart from good things room was spot on owners was superb very good knowledge of the area bed was so comfy didnt wanna get out breakfast was good defo recoomend this place and its location is superb

birthday outing

Owners we very pleasant, informative and made a great breakfast. 

Room was large, clean with tea and coffee and a good ensuite.

We had booked it late as we had had altered plans and it was exactly what we paid for.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast very close to the town centre.

Extremely tired and and cluttered. Whole place felt musty and needing a total deep clean. Not a hotel, honestly felt like we were staying in an old peoples home. Webs and dust in the room and bathroom. 
Breakfast had to be pre ordered on arrival!
My husband had booked as it claimed to have award winning breakfast!
Dreadful breakfast, very small and under cooked single sausage.
Was pressured by owner to write in visitors book. I really didn't want to but she kept insisting. This could be a beautiful place if it was stripped back to the bare brick and lovingly restored. As it is, it's plain awful.
