After reading some of the reviews I was sceptical about this place, what a surprise I got we arrived before check in and was allowed to check in straight away, the owner was very pleasant, room was small but clean and adequate, bed again small but comfortable ( room 4 ), breakfast was included in price and very nice cereals, toast and full English, and all this for £45.00!!!!! I honestly don,t know what some of the people leaving negative reviews expect, if you want 4/5 stars go and pay the price!!!, all in all a good stay, have stayed in a lot worst places and paid more!

Value for money

visted here on the 23rd April 2016. This is the worst place I've ever stayed. Was greeted at the door from owner saying... am I sure I had made a booking and off he went to check he comes back with the room key no6 room. Then told which key was for the room and the main door then says cash only so make sure you have the money on you.  he went on to say no noise as they is children in the house and no singing and dancing if it's late on return. Gets to the room very small couldn't swing a cat in it. Decor is dirty needs a good painting.  Tv is like being back in the old times. Enough for 1 tea/coffee. Curtains don't fit. Opens bathroom/toilet door...wow what a smell sewerage smell only staying for the night so just put up with it. No sleep as the bed had all its springs sticking in your whole body, dirty carpet. Breakfast is mayhem if you get a table 5 tables for everyone settee in dining area though so you can take a seat and wait for a table not nice when people are eating and your sat waiting. Upon leaving to check out the owner was in his own world took the key and told us to wait till he goes and checks whatever he was checking. Never stay here again would of gone somewhere else for the same price if the others had of been vacant. They is a for sale sign up also needs knocking down and rebuilding this place or someone that cares to take it over.

AVOID.....DISGUSTING!!

we were greeted by the host and told him we had booked a room and his response was ' are you sure' I don't know if this was some kind of joke or he really didn't know but we didn't find it funny. We we were shown to our room (5)  which was a family room when we had booked a double. No wardrobe no dressing table or chair no hairdryer no toiletries not even a soap! Enough milk and coffee for one drink each but you couldn't get the kettle under the tiny sink to fill with water. tap coming away from sink!. two windows one with blind the other nothing. no headboard and bed pushed up to radiator very hard mattress. the telly had no signal but the host came and fixed it. lets get this straight these are NOT THE OWNERS!! the owner rents the guesthouse to this couple and we were told that he wont spend a penny on it! We were woken by the host' child shouting and screaming at full tilt at 7am. The breakfast was okay if not a little greasy. Not worth the £49 we paid I could have cried when I saw the room. to be honest the 1 star is for the cleanliness of the room but just felt like we were in a hostel.The host' were friendly enough but just feels like they are fighting a losing battle.

*AVOID*

Be sure to avoid bedroom number 9.  The matress is solely comprised of very protubrent springs!  A bit like a bed of nails. A sleepless night costing £49. The place was for sale at the time of our visit. It had a feel of benign indifference.

Disapointed

Just booked into Premier Inn after walking away from our booked room here. Tiny dirty room, wardrobe handle missing, view of a wall. Surprised that others appear to have stayed here, worse than a teenager's bedroom :-(
