we have stayed here on a couple of occasions. The type of guests in some cases left a lot to be desired.
The park is kept clean and i would say good for families.
The staff in reception have a really bad attitude and do not make you feel welcome at all.

Second time here, went end of June mon to fri, booked direct with Harrison leisure, booked a platinum plus 3 bedroom pet friendly caravan, very nice, but no cushions on sofa not even a salt and pepper pot, no umbrella on veranda, no room at side of bed to get in and out, beds made up and towels supplied which was good, went in a two bed platinum plus last year was much nicer and bigger. Site itself is very nice, caravans all set out nicely, do need speed bumps on roads leading into and out of camp, the number of cars I saw speeding in that area was ridiculous, surprised no ones been hit by a car yet, splash park is really good, indoor pool is small and dingy looking, needs a good clean.
Food was very good in the bar, serve food till half 8, but no dogs allowed after 7pm, if it’s a dog friendly park then dogs on leads should be allowed to stay longer, can’t sit outside with your dog if it’s throwing it down.
No entertainment at all, so no one in the bar, park was very busy loads of people with children, we were told that there’s entertainment at weekends, but we weren’t there at weekend, very disappointing, reception closed early, this was the end of June, hardly out of season, poo pins were full, and not emptied while we were there, came home a day early, would of stayed had there been a bit of entertainment on at night, and cock a doodle doo every morning at 5am, looked out of caravan window one morning, and there it was walking past the caravan

Nice park but

Firstly I would like to say how much we enjoyed our caravan holiday. We booked a late deal through Hoseasons which was a good price. Our caravan Platinum 3 was very clean, modern and spacious. The corner sofa and bed were very comfy. The wine chiller was also a nice touch.

We didn’t have any decking or furniture outside but put our camping chairs on the grassy area at the side of the caravan which got the sun all day long. 

We used the pool one day which was ok. The older lady on reception was quite rude and there is no information given to guests that swimming must be booked on the hour. 

We don’t have children so didn’t come for the facilities but the outdoor splash area and park looked good. The bar / restaurant looked a bit doom and gloom so we didn’t try that. The only other thing is that there’s only one bin area which is on the way out of the site. Personally I think there should be some more bins located closer to the caravans. This is also shown by the amount of litter around the site. 

The reason I give 4* not 5* is because one night of our stay we were woken by screaming, swearing and cars racing at 2am. This lasted hours. At 4am there were two police vans parked outside our caravan arresting people. It did make us feel uneasy for the rest of our stay. Surely if the park warden was patrolling then he would have been able to deal with this sooner. There were no apologies or reassurances given after this night. 

Would we return? Maybe for a cheap deal.


Caravan beautiful, clientele not so 

So we booked this break away with Hoeseasons only to find after we had booked with a different company that ‘had been carefully selected by Hoeseasons’. On arrival at 5.30pm the reception had already closed and we were met by a pleasant security guard who gave us our keys to the caravan. 
On arrival to the caravan I was pleasantly surprised. It was spotless and probably one of the best I have stayed in. 

We took a stroll to the clubhouse which looked like a working men’s bar from the early 80s. We did not stay! 

The park in the resort is good, especially for the under 10s and the water park is ok too. The swimming pool is very small but again ok for small children. 

Apart from that not much to do in the resort. 

The park itself is clean and comfortable apart from the noise of dogs barking until the early hours and a party effing and jeffing from the caravan  behind ours! 

Would I come back to this site? Probably not but not a bad weekend nevertheless.

We booked this site because it was a dog friendly site.  We managed to book a platinum plus (which you cannot get from the larger sites) and it didn’t disappoint. We didn’t really use the bar, cafe or swimming pool so cannot comment. We had an issue with shower which was rectified straight away.

Positives are lovely caravan on a lovely clean site with no litter which is a big bug bear for me. Caravan was spotlessly clean. Nice small quiet site.  Staff lovely. Black bag, dishwasher cloth and loo roll on side a nice touch. Barrier control for security.  Safe parking a little deck with patio table and chairs.

Negatives are, reception toilet no seat or hand wash!  Dog poo bins was over flowing for a few days before being emptied.  

Would definitely stay here again if visiting Southport. Might even try a hive?
