Well/ what can we say? Jut returned from the best 5 day stay in a UK Hotel. A Wonderful, warm, welcoming Hotel where the Owners are so Lovely, Friendly and Obliging and cannot do enough fo you. That welcoming nature has also been passed on to the Hotel Staff, Karen, the waitress in the Breakfast Room is a pure bundle of seer delight and also extremely helpful, nothing is too much for anyone. Even the Oriental Cleaner who looks ater the rooms was so sweet and Friendly. Everyone works so hard to make your stay such a wonderful experience. The Hotel itself is lovely, its owners, Paul and his Wife have worked so hard to modernise it and continue to introduce new fixtures to help make your stay even more comfortable. The rooms have everything you need, the Beds are enormous and very comfy and the Towels are of a high quality s are the toiletries, all of which are supplied. And Tea & Coffee facilities in the room are perfect. The choice of Breakfasts is more than adequate and the Full English using local produce is very tasty. The only miniscule problem is the Porridge; which was not cooked properly, the oats were still hard and raw, it needed longer cooking time and would be much better cooked with milk not water, buy hey, thats just my opinion. My Wife and I loved our stay at the Havelock and strongly recommend it to everyone and even if we manage to find a suitable property to buy on the Island, we will ensure to continue our visits and Friendship with Paul, his Wife and All at The Havelock, their help and guidance has been uunmeasurable. Best UK Hotel stay ever.

A lovely welcoming homely comfortable hotel. Paul & Vicky were perfect hosts, along with their delightful little girls. The outdoor pool is an added bonus although not warm enough during our stay mid September. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious with huge choice. Bar lounge was very comfortable in the evening. Short walk down to Shanklin seafront or up to Shanklin old town. Everything was positive and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. To add, Paul gave us a trade rate on the Wightlink from Portsmouth to Fishbourne which was extremely welcome. Thank you and we hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful place

My wife and I booked into The Havelock as a last minute due to our previously booked guest house being awful. 

We were at our wits end as what to do. Emergency Google searches led us to This wonderful hotel! We were so lucky that they had one room left, a twin room. 

Well, we were so glad we did call them as The Havelock is a wonderful hotel.
The owners, Paul and Vicky are just amazing. So friendly and chatty and can’t do enough for their guests. 

The Havelock is spotlessly clean and tidy, the rooms are decorated to a high standard and the en-suite bathroom was beautifully done. It was just recently updated and the walk in shower was blissful. 

To top it all off, there was a heated swimming pool, lovely bar and lounge area, free parking and a top notch breakfast included and was served to you by very friendly staff. The room is cleaned and beds made every morning. 

We stayed for a long weekend from 8th - 11th September 2023 and didn’t want to leave. 

Paul and Vicky, We rate your hotel 5 Stars. Well done on all your hard work.

The Havelock Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight.

This has to be the best hotel in Shanklin - I’ve stayed in a few different ones in Shanklin over the years for the scooter rally, but keep returning here now as it is just superb. Cannot fault anything, everything has been thought of and all the staff, rooms, facilities, views and pool are amazing- highly recommend 🏆

Another amazing stay!

good food nice staff, breakfast staff are lovely and pool is a bonus. Always nice to come over for the IOW festival. Hope the B and B continues to go from strength to strength. Always nice to meet new people as well

We have just arrived home after yet another amazing stay at The Havelock.
From the time we arrived to the time we left,  Paul,  Vicky, and the team  made us feel welcome.  The rooms are very clean and the  breakfast as usual arrived warm and plentiful.  We travel a lot and this Hotel is  definitely one of our favourites. Hopefully, we will see you all again next year. Thank  you for another amazing stay  ❤️

Stayed 4 nights at The Havelock. Paul, the owner made us feel very welcome and was always on hand to help us store the bikes. Room was comfortable and the breakfasts were great. Would highly recommend.

Cycling Holiday

First time visitor to the island but won't be the last. The hotel was great, it was in an excellent spot and the owners were very friendly. Breakfasts very good as were the other staff. Will definately be rebooking for a second trip next year.

Couldn't fault it

Stayed here for  Scooter Rally.
Easy to find, plenty of parking, could see scooters from window, which helped with security.close to sea front etc.

But, what stands out most is the friendliness of the staff ! 

From arrival  we were made very welcome. Shown to our room, details were given about Pool(towels provided) a section marked off at shallow end, no lifeguard needed,  but both owners are trained, breakfast times etc.
The extra touches that made us feel welcome were that on our first late night back, after  seeing the island, was that the owner asked us if we would like a cold bottle of water for our room, which we then had each night.  This was so needed after a long day.
There are plenty of restaurants, short walking distance, away. 
Breakfast was full english, juices toast etc, could also order fruit & yogurt which meant it was kept cold. 
There is a relaxing bar area, with a family section. Although we did not use this, many people did. Games etc for children. And access to the garden through patio doors.
The area next to the pool has seating etc, where you can take your drinks, food etc.

Rooms are really clean, newly decorated. Good size shampoo etc, hair dryer. Iron available from reception if needed. Showers are brilliant, good water pressure. Friends room had a bath, so you could request this. Also, small flight of stairs between levels, so ask from ground level if needed. We actually prefer high floors. 

The Havelock is a credit to the owners. Nothing is too much trouble. The owners have managed to give The Havelock a family feel but good for adults too. 

We would not hesitate booking here again.

What a gem this place is!

This is the second year we have stayed here over the bank holiday weekend - was a lovely welcome back again, and had a wonderful stay.  The rooms are spotless, the bar is welcoming, the pool was a nice for a refreshing dip, the breakfasts are quality, and the hotel has a lovely feel - highly recommend.
