A warm and friendly welcome from the hosts Pete and Rhona who are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, nothing is too much trouble. 
Rooms are lovely and comfortable, breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. 
Location is great, just a 10 minute walk to the town and seafront. 
Would recommend to anyone.

Great holiday, great hosts.

Monico Guest House was a lovely place to stay with our 2 young children. Rhona and Peter catered perfectly for a family. We had a large room with a double bed and en suite.  The bedroom also had another room with bunk beds. 
The room was clean, with fresh towels, bedding and lots of complimentary tea's, coffee's, hot chocolates and biscuits. They even left juice and a bunny chocolate for our girls as it was the start of the Easter holidays. 

Rhona was amazing at recommending all the local places to visit, she had lots of leaflets also. We experienced the beautiful park which is just down the road.

We were greeted the next morning with smiles and and the most amazing food, Peter was amazing with our girls and really made us all feel welcome and at home. 
We will definitely be back!

Home from Home

Just spent Friday to Monday at the guesthouse. Peter,Rhona and McKenzie were very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. We stayed within a few rooms. We had the family room at the top that has a double bed room and a door connects into a room with bunk beds that were perfect for our kids. My other family members were in other rooms that were great also with lots of space. I need to say I was delighted to see power cubes in all of the rooms these are so handy when you have kids with lots of devices to charge. The rooms were clean and tidy and also had more than enough space to store clothes and shoes. Kids absolutely loved the hot chocolate in the rooms and lovely biscuits to dip in. The breakfast room is lovely, bright and cosy. The breakfast was amazing and nothing was any hassle to them. All Cereals available with muffins. Full cooked breakfast and assortment of jams & marmalade available too for toast. 
You are given a key to your room that also has a key to the front door so you are free to come and go as you please. 
Peter and Rhona explained to us where to have a walk about to see the area. 
We walked to the left the first day and went through the lovely park. Walked through the open air theatre and Explored the North beach front. We loved all the coloured huts on the beach. Lovely views and many coffee shops and bars around all areas. The second day we walked through the town centre and walked down to the south beach. This is more of the tourist side with the harbour and many shops, eating places, bars and amusements. Again lovely area with live music in some bars, even at this time of year. 
I will definitely be returning to Monico, overall we had a lovely time and I'm looking forward to returning in the summer season when there will be even more available to do. 

I just want to say a big thank you. We had a lovely time and looking forward to seeing you all again in the near future!

Had an amazing time wonderful guesthouse

comfortable clean  well run guest house.the new owners are very helpful and friendly. breakfasts are excellent and tasty .bed is comfortable and the room is a good size and en suite.good location, well placed to be able to walk to any attractions in Scarborough. nothing is too much trouble. 

Great stay

Excellent value for money.  Clean room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Location really good, free parking and WiFi. Great breakfast and friendly hosts. My new go to place to stay in scarborough 

Lovely stay

Mine hosts Derek and Kay are a warm friendly couple who love a good natter to which we enjoy the banter with them and the rooms are lovely cosy and comfortable and very very clean and they certainly know how to cook a great breakfast and will accommodate you needs for breakfast in anyway.From a man’s point of view Derek is a man’s man and such a jovial character and a funny sense of humour Then there Kay who spends a lot of time in the kitchen successfully catering to people’s different needs and when she has finished comes into the dinning room to join in the morning banter.We have spent two lovely 4 days holiday at The Monico I two years and will be looking forward to going back next July.A massive thanks to Derek and Kay for our recent stay 11/7/23  to 14/7/23 we will be back xx

1st Class experience

From booking to leaving was superb. Asked if we could leave our cases until it was time to check in as we arrived early by train. Had 2 single rooms for myself and a gentleman I supported as we were going to see Blondie. Rooms were clean and bright. Hospitality tray well stocked. Breakfast was very filling. Brilliant hosts. I purchased the owners book as seems like an interesting read. Will definitely return. Thank you

Supporting a gentleman on his 2 night break

Had a lovely 2 nights at the Monico. Kay and Derek are great hosts, very accommodating and friendly couple. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and 10/10 for the full English breakfast.
The little added touches, chocolates with tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries for use and it was lovely to find a birthday card from them when the hubby had mentioned it was my birthday on booking 
Only thing missing was , we wished it had a licensed bar 


Nice little break

Booked at Monico as going to see Tears for Fears which ended up being cancelled but still went ahead with our stay. Lovely B&B - no problems parking - permit given - made very welcome by Kay and Dereck - room was lovely with a big bathroom - slept well - really good tea tray and an excellant breakfast - will be visiting again for sure.

A gem

Very clean and very friendly. Love this little gem in scarborough. Second stay and will return. Breakfast is amazing.love the the corner bath in the en suite.  You can smoke outside in the quaint garden on the front anx watch the world go by day and night
