Currently staying at Mollett’s Farm in our  caravan. We are ‘frequent flyers’ here and have also stayed in the cottages on a number of occasions.  It is an idyllic rural retreat and it’s a farm so yes, there is a cockerel as one might expect. It’s a charming way to wake up!  We appreciate the varied bird life, the chickens, the ducks and the beautiful wild meadows.  As for the cottages, they are very well appointed and well stocked. We’ve never had any issues with the heating, it’s turned off in the summer, but there are clear instructions left in the room under the control panel.  We’re coming back at the end of August to finish the season and we’ll be here again next year to see our lovely hosts Sasha and Richard (+ the cockerel!)

Idyllic rural retreat

We did have a lovely stay in Suffolk and Mollet’s Farm is very handy as it is next to the busy A12 main road. The farmhouse featured on the website is where the owners live and not where the accommodation is. That is in a converted wooden barn.

The room was very clean and comfortable with a spacious disabled-style bathroom. Everything we needed was provided. 

However, it was chilly during our stay and heavy rain - sadly the underfloor heating was not working. Stone floors are cold!

We were looking forward to a peaceful stay but to be honest we were a bit overwhelmed with all the noise. Outside our room were two old shipping containers which housed the chickens and the Cockrell. The Cockrell is an early riser and starts at 4 am and goes on… And on… And on. The chickens, likewise. 
Luckily, there was a little bit of a screen between us and the Caravan and campsite a few feet away.

It’s also worth noting that the housing area for all the families and rooms is densely packed into a small area so there is only a tiny grassy section for children to play. Unfortunately this was right outside our room so it was lots of screaming and bouncing balls and there was nowhere else for us to sit outside so had no choice, but to go out for the evening.

We did also have to turn the fridge off overnight as this was too noisy, but if you turn it up full before you go out for the day you can leave it off overnight and the contents will still be cool the next day. 
Little things could be improved upon such as somewhere to actually rest the soap in the shower rather than having to put it on the floor every time!

As I said, this is a good location for the Suffolk coast, but sadly we won’t be returning. At about £150 a night and a promise of tranquility, I’m afraid it simply doesn’t deliver.

If you do go, then take earplugs and a hot water bottle!


Disappointingly noisy

A very nice comfortable, clean and welcoming place to stay near the wonderful Suffolk coast. We have stayed here multiple times and can recommend it as a home from home. Having a simple electric car charging available is a bonus. “Friday Market” available for a full English breakfast just down the road.

A great place to stay

We had a lovely two night stay at Mollet's Farm as we were attending a wedding nearby.  The accomodation was just what we needed -  everything for our comfort  was thougth about, right down to breakfast essentials and bathroom extras.  The room was quiet, and cosy with a wonderfully comfortable bed and warm underfloor heating.

We will be sure to be back to stay again at Millet's Farm and to see more of Suffolk.

A Perfect Stay

Just the perfect place to say with great accommodation and helpful and friendly hosts. Would totally recommend (and have been)  to anyone looking to stay in this part of Suffolk. Everywhere we wanted to go was really accessible. The accommodation is well appointed with some lovely details. Communal and private patio areas are lovely and well maintained.

Fantastic!

My daughter and I enjoyed a 5 night stay in Snape Stable at Mollets Farm. The accommodation was very clean and very well equipped, had very comfy beds and underfloor heating which we were extremely grateful for as it was pretty chilly during our break. Mollets Farm is in a great location for exploring Suffolk. There was a welcome pack which was a small supply of breakfast food  (bread, milk, butter, jam, cereal + a cake) and we can recommend the Farm Cafe a few minutes down the road at Marlesford if you are looking for a good breakfast to start the day.  
We very much enjoyed our stay at Mollets Farm but have to mention, as a note for light sleepers, there is a cockerel nearby who delights in starting his early morning call just after 4am and continues for some considerable time!

Great base to explore Suffolk

Really handy location close to all areas of interest, lovely accommodation, warm and spotless. Everything we needed was close and easily accessible and although close to main A12, traffic noise was so far away we had no disturbance at all. Highly recommended. 

Perfect location and classy accommodation, highly recommended. 

We stayed at Molletts Farm for a three night break to explore the Suffolk coast and countryside and what a perfect retreat it was. Firstly, the location is ideally placed to visit some of the pretty villages the can be found in Suffolk, with the A12 close to the farm, yet you are not disturbed by any noise. We visited Southwold, Framlingham, Orford, Kersey, Aldeburgh, Lavenham, Woodbridge, Dunwich, Thorpeness and Walberswick.

The accommodation was spotless, we stayed in the Orford Stables Studio with our pet Labrador, which had its own patio area to sit out on in the evening with a glass of wine. The large super-king bed had Egyptian cotton linen, and to keep us cosy there was electric underfloor heating. 

A large flat screen TV with Freeview HD, and a bedside clock radio, drop-leaf dining table with two fold-up chairs were all supplied. The kitchen was really well equipped, with a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, ceramic hob fan oven and even a dishwasher. A really nice touch was the welcome pack that Richard and Sasha had left for us, which consisted of bread, cake, milk, butter, tea, coffee and cereal.

The walk-in wet-room shower is wheelchair friendly and comes with a lovely selection of toiletries for your use. Outside, there is a pretty courtyard, with a rose garden, there are 3 cottages on one side of the courtyard consisting of 2 floors, and 3 studios on the other. Stand outside in the evening and you will see an abundance of stars in the sky due to the lack of any light pollution. Explore the surrounding countryside and see Millie the friendly horse along with chickens, ducks and peahens. There is a large gravel carpark adjacent to the properties, so easy transportation of any luggage that you may have. Molletts Farm also caters for camper vans, caravans and tents, in the nearby field.

Suffolk has so many beautiful places to visit and all are within driving distance of the farm. There is a fabulous welcome pack in the accommodation detailing the local attractions, which include maps, flyers and books, which we found very useful. 

Sasha and Richard were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. You can see the thought and hard work that they have put in to make Molletts Farm the perfect place to stay. Thank you!

Wonderful stay at Molletts Farm

Thank you Sasha, Richard and Family for everything! From the smooth booking process, help with queries to aid my ideas and planning, then supplying extras to help make our celebrations work better! 
It's situated in a lovely location with brilliant well kept accommodation, and a stunning rose garden, all the grounds are immaculate. Really homely comfortable living spaces for all cottages and studios! (We had most of them) the atmosphere is calming and tranquil, a real escape from busy life! 
We booked months in advance with worries about covid measures and restrictions I was concerned it may not run as we would like for a celebration with a group of our size. However with outside open space and being able to be sociable safely, Mollett's Farm met all our needs despite the current covid restrictions. All the cottages and studios had complimentary provisions and toiletries that were plentiful and good quality, this was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Thank you again for helping us have a wonderful weekend 😊 I would recommend for anyone at any age! I will certainly be coming back and bringing my husband with me next time! May even try out the camping area!

Lovely weekend away!

Tempted by an advertisement in a monthly magazine we take, we decided to make Mollett's Farm our destination for a first, short stay in Suffolk so that we could catch up with friends that we'd not seen for over 15 years.

We stayed in Aldeburgh, one of the Granary Cottages, and from our first step through the door we knew we'd found a true gem.  The quality of fixtures and fittings deserve so much more than five stars, and absolutely everything is included and available (even a phone charger when you discover you'd forgotten to bring one!).

Jane is the fussy one, and she can rival the "Princess and the Pea" in being uncomfortable on most beds, such that we also take with us a Tempur travel mattress ~ it stayed in the car.  She also has acute hearing, so was really pleased to find that, despite being fairly close to the main road, absolutely no noise penetrated and disturbed her beauty sleep: in fact, little noise was heard even when sitting outside.  Talking of outside, the precautions taken during these Covid-19 times included having a dedicated patio table and seats allocated to each cottage.

Although only staying for three nights, we managed to see some of the local area, and the "Local Information" leaflet available in the cottage is the best ever seen: very professional.

Sasha and Richard are exceptional and friendly hosts, and were able to cope with the late change we had to make in reducing our stay by one night.

There is so much more to see in the area, that we know exactly where we will stay for our next visit: do not hesitate to book here, as it is worth every penny!
