I booked The Gallery for three nights in May 2022 through booking.com. Our plans changed and we had to cancel. I gave the property plenty of notice and it was within the free cancellation period anyway. According the cancellation conditions, the money was to be refunded directly from the property. Fast forward 12 months and I noticed in our credit card statements that it had never been refunded. I phoned the owner/manager Martin and explained the situation and he said he would look into it and get back to me. He never did. I followed up several occasions by voice mail and email and he never got back to me. I then took it up with booking.com. They said they would try to contact the property to retrieve the money and failing that, they would refund the money to me and take legal action against the property. This process took months. I had to follow up with booking.com numerous times before the payment t finally came through. I never stayed at the property and never will. 

Dishonoured free cancellation

A quirky yet very welcoming stay in Port Isaac. Right in the centre of the action and the freedom to come and go as we pleased. And who gets to walk through a proper art gallery as they head for their bed?

Our welcome from Rosie and all the help and advoce she gave us for our first time in Port Isaac made it very special.

Amazing stay in an amazing place.

Location fabulous , upstairs suite very quirky but very functional, large comfortable bed with fabulous views. Take note !This is not a bed and breakfast, just room only. Plenty of restaurants for breakfast.  Make sure to allow for this in your budget . Facilities were good especially the bathroom. Great shower.. I would have liked it to have been a bit cleaner. Would recommend the upstairs suite.

Great Location

Couldn't be in a better place to explore Port Isaac. Cute and clean bedroom and bathroom and amazing garden out back to enjoy the sunshine. Would definitely recommend. Hosts were also very warm and friendly, and it's very easy to come and go as you please

Perfect location, and everything you need

The rooms are above a gallery as the title states and it’s strange walking through a shop at night we had a small loft room which was clean and tidy the host was friendly and very accommodating. It did correctly state a harbour view but you would need to be over five feet tall to see out the dormer window.we had a shared bathroom and no breakfast (which we knew about)maybe £90 a night mid October a tad pricey for what it is ,blame doc Martin I say

Short stay

Shouldn’t call themselves a B&B as breakfast is not on offer.   Big bed but small room.   Had to share a bathroom and there is nowhere to leave damp towels.   Towels only replaced once in our 4 night 5!day stay.  Bedroom not cleaned either, hope the bathroom was cleaned daily due to sharing and covid.8
The location is really good.  A short walk to the Platt and to the Golden lion pub.  You are staying above the gallery,  when leaving in the morning and coming back at night you have to go through the shop,  you are responsible for making sure the shop is secure out of opening tines

Nice location

20mins before our arrival we were told they had double booked our room. The receptionist then began to panic at me down the phone as we tried to find another room in the small town during the busy season. Unhelpful owner in Florence said “tell them to call Booking.com” - best avoid I’d say! 

Best avoid I’d say 

On some sites it is listed as a B&B but there is no breakfast offering. Rooms had more emphasis on arts and style than on practicality and cleanliness. Many surfaces were dusty, no way to store bags for useful access to them.

The shared bathroom is clean but a shared bathroom is outdated these days. The walls seem to carry all sound as well, so little real privacy. There is a small elevated garden accessed via a walkway from an enlarged stair window. It can be a bit precarious to get in and out.

In fact I banged my head very badly coming back in ! 

Parking is an issue generally in Port Isaac and there is none for this accommodation. This is not made clear when booking ! Facilities state parking ! 

Most concerning is that there is no phone signal and no one on site after 6pm. There is no number to contact anyone if there is a problem outside of the shop hours.

We paid for two nights at £180 and left first thing in the morning after the first night to come home !

Misleading on bed and breakfast and need to look at health and safety policy !

Although it states B&B it is room only but very clean and lovely views across the slip way. Brit movie tour was fantastic as the guide was actually a regular on the set of Doc Martin the Slipway Hotel and restaurant was fantastic and well worth a visit 

Overnight Doc Martin Tour

We stayed her for the weekend whilst experiencing the Doc Martin tour. Perfect location with beautiful views over Port Isaac and we could see Doc Martin's house from across the bay. The owner was very friendly and made our stay very comfortable indeed.
