The Baskerville Arms

We have visited Hay on Wye a few times now and always stayed in the centre. This time we ventured slightly further out. A whole four minute drive to be exact! It was a much better choice. Baskerville House was the luckiest find. EVERYTHING about our stay was perfect. I travelled with my mum, sister and aunt for her 80th birthday treat. I spoke to Stephen directly as I wanted to ensure the room would be suitable for my aunt. We had two magnificent rooms, one with a roll top bath and the other a walk-in shower. Baskerville house is so much more than a B&B, it is pure luxury, from the beds and luxurious down pillows and bedding to the ground coffee in our rooms and the general surroundings. There is an honesty bar in the main lounge ( this is planned for a library, work in progress as I write) we sat downstairs of an evening after our dinner out playing board games in beautifully surroundings. Now onto the food!! What can I say. Rebecca was a chef in a past life and we were treated to a breakfast of Kings. Beautiful fresh fruit, bread and amazing homemade granola plus a wide choice of cooked breakfast, all local produce. I cannot recommend Baskerville House enough, Stephen and Rebecca were the perfect hosts, so warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend booking directly as the price was better than on the usual hotel booking sites. We have planned our return stay for next year and cannot wait. Thank you both for a wonderful weekend
