Oatsroyd Mill Holiday Apartments

We had visitors from France and needed somewhere local for them to stay. What a gem we fell upon. This apartment is FAB!! It is very contemporary but in a magnificent old building which has beautiful and interesting things to look at, at every turn. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay, plus Hilly and Dan were so helpful and friendly. It was a delight to be able to send our friends here with no reservations. THANKYOU!!!!

As we only stayed for one night I can't write a detailed review. However the appartment was great value offering as it does spacious clean and novel accommodation with splendidly isolated peace and quiet. Although a little bizzare the check in/payment appears to work well enough. The initial breakfast supplies were a real bonus. I would definitely use the place again hopefully for a longer stay as the surrounding area appears to offer lots of outdoor activities for cyclists walkers and gongoozelers. Cheers

We booked a two bedroom apartment and it was way beyond our expectations! The views are breathtakingly beautiful and are worth the price alone.  Bread, croissants, preserves, cereals all left for breakfast the next day including milk and orange juice in the fridge! Would definitely recommend!

The apartment itself is lovely, very clean. Stocked with breakfast items. Bread, milk, juice, croissants. Towels provided, shower gel, shampoo. kitchen is stocked with all kitchen equipment. We stayed here for the weekend and it was lovely, very quiet and isolated. Only thing which was an issue for us were the bed and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi only seems to work in living area, if u move to bathroom or bedroom there is no connection. The double beds are 2 single beds put together which wasn't very comfy. Probably wouldn't stay here again just because of the beds. However if this changed and they were normal double beds I would probably change my mind about that. There is allocated parking in a secure car park.

French visitors stay in STYLE!!

Long weekend break

Isolated but great location.

Fabulous stay! Breathtaking views!

We were not asked for a deposit and received no reply when we rang and emailed to query this.  We were supposed to get final details by email 3 days before we travelled, these did not arrive until the evening before.  After a five hour journey there was a  problem getting into the mill via the undercover car park.  In the end we hauled all our luggage round to the front door,we were later informed by a postman that we needed to press the 'clear' button before we could enter, it would have been useful to know this.  It was bitterly cold and the heating had not been put on, it took several hours to warm up.  We were not able to access the wifi network using either of the codes on the information folder, I rang the manager but received no reply throughout our stay, nor did she reply to my note when she entered the apartment to take our cheque.  There was no one to greet us and we had no communication throughout our visit.  The high fencing and rigorous entry and exit procedures were a little disconcerting, it felt like a prison. I was expecting a view of the stunning valley, we booked a superior room but we overlooking the canal at the rear of the property.The information pack was badly printed and not very extensive, there were maps or mention of the amazing walks in the area or history of the mill.  The double bed involved two singles pushed together [this is not superior standard] Had we wanted to entertain visitors we would have had to share crockery, there was only the minimum and a cafetiere would have been useful.  The breakfast was basic, sliced bread, instant coffee, nothing fresh, it certainly bore no  comparison to the abundance of local produce we were offered at  Croft Mill in Hebden Bridge.  The carpet in the living area was badly stained and the leatherette sofa had certainly seen better days.  The 'new' grouting in the bathroom displayed very shoddy workmanship and the towels were inadequate.  The local pub in the village did not serve food during the week.  The area is stunning but it is better to stay in Hebden bridge for access to pubs, restaurants and shops.  This place was very impersonal and we were disappointed, we will not be going there again.
