A very fine grand house with SUPERB staff in a great location just off the beach. Easy access to the Solent area. We went to Lee on Solent one day and Gosport marina the next. 
The listed hotel is quite boutique with lovely rooms, comfy beds and a grand entrance hall. There are 6 rooms so is very imntimate with the staff. We didnt notice the other guests even though it is quite cosy.
The breakfast was also SUPERB.  We didnt try the evening meal but it looked great.
There is a small bar area too serving some fine whiskies!
But mostly its the staff that make your stay so good. Well done.

Romantic listed boutique hotel next to the beach

A stunning building steeped with history and elegance. 

My beautifully furnished room with an en-suite over looked the ocean was spacious, clean and elegant. 

The free standing bath with the ocean view had me at ‘hello’ which was idillic as I soaked in bubbles over looking the ocean sipping on the delicious tea provided for a few hours. 

Thank you Vanessa and the team for such a kind welcome and a wonderful stay! 

The location is by the ocean, close to everything you need yet feels remote which I loved.

Alverbank and elegant royal history

A fantastic weekend at the Alverbank. We were treated like old friends. The staff could not do enough. Beautiful old house steeped in history, superb restaurant and breakfast, but the staff are the jewel in the crown of this hotel. 

This is an old listed property so don't expect the perfection of a new build, but what the building lacks in investment is well compensated by the staff that run it.

Superb friendly welcome.

Why, oh why were we seated in a room tucked away at the side of the hotel with no views?  One window in the room we were seated in, but too high for anyone to try and look out of.  As lovely as the afternoon tea and service was, we can’t understand why we were not seated in the main part of the hotel to be able to enjoy the views.  Anyone booking similar events, check first where you will be accommodated.

Disappointment with seating plan

Our son had his wedding at the Alverbank in November. We were lucky to have exclusive use of the hotel, including the 6 bedrooms, for the event. I cannot praise this hotel and all the staff highly enough. From the minute the wedding was booked to the day itself Claire the wedding planner, employed by the hotel, had everything under control. She is a wonderful person with excellent customer care skills and ensured the planning of the wedding was meticulous. This meant the day ran beautifully with no hitches at all. The venue itself was decorated very tastefully, the bedrooms were gorgeous (2 with sea views) and the most delicious food I have ever had at a wedding. The chefs worked so hard to accommodate all our requests from the buffet super on Friday to the breakfast on Sunday morning. We would highly recommend this venue for drinks by the fire, a weekend stay and definitely a wedding ! Thank you so much The Alverbank for making this special occasion so memorable. 5+++ stars. 

Fantastic wedding experience !

Staff are so friendly and welcoming you feel that you are staying with friends. We were there for a family birthday gathering and the service was excellent, rooms are clean and beds comfortable and communal areas well presented.

A really friendly hotel

Had a lovely full English breakfast this morning with friends and the service was excellent. The food was cooked perfectly and very well presented. The disabled parking area right outside the front door was ideal for my friends son in a wheel chair. 

Lovely Breakfast 

Had a fantastic meal yet again. Cannot fault the food or the service. Loved our waitress ( Alisha? )  and the steak was divine!  Such a nice relaxed atmosphere, made it the perfect setting. 
Will be back again very soon.  



Fantastic

We live locally so do not actually stay at the hotel but over the years we have dined there many times and it always WONDERFUL, a unique place for this area. This wonderful unique historic building was sadly falling into rack and ruin but the present owners have restored it to its former glory and for this we should all be grateful. Wonderful welcoming staff who without exception make every visit something to treasure. At the moment the wonderful Billy is back but only for a few weeks and he is such an added bonus, not to be missed! Wonderful food, beautiful views over the Solent and a relaxing glorious garden to enjoy al fresco dining. Open Wednesday thro. Sunday for dinner and now serving a fabulous breakfast open to the public.
