Stayed here for work for 3 days the owner Debbie is amazing very friendly and amazing the food here is perfect and the room are just right comfortable and with own bathroom amazing service and would definitely stop again can not fault

Very helpful staff, warm welcome, warm room, comfy beds, good shower, tasty breakfast. Reasonably priced. All round lovely change of scenery. Helpful guide of local area including food etc. provided in the rooms.

Lovely evening

A very good price, great breakfast,room was very nice, and the owner Debbie,was very helpful..Was just passing through it was good enough..it is in a nice village, where there is a good takeaway,a nice restaurant and a short drive to 2 National trust buildings

Very friendly

Booked this pretty little B & B for a short break with my wife.  Enjoyed our stay. Lovely clean room, bed made every day, ample good quality breakfast and best of all a landlady who really took an interest in her guests (thank you Debbie) Weather was beautiful and to make things even better across the road from the B & B was a smashing pub offering good quality meals at realistic prices ( The Angel) Served by lovely Hazel.  Give both venues a go, you wont be disappointed.

Little Gem

Me and my partner stayed in room 1 last night. 

To cut a long story short me and my other half locked our selfs out of our house, we decided to mess about getting the spare key the morning after as it was getting late.

We showed up at The Cock Inn who was more than happy to make room for us. The room is what you expect for a quirky BnB. Lovely and clean, beds are firm and comfortable. Shower was surprisingly good (better than most hotels I've stayed in).

The breakfast in the morning was your typical English fry up. The young lady that cooked it for us was very polite, she done a fantastic job considering she was on her own.

Pleasant stay

Great welcome here, with highly professional and well organised instructions about the facilities / amenities on arrival. 

The building is undeniably charming with its beams and exposed floor boards, and the village itself very relaxing.

However, there’s no private bathroom as advertised, and the ceilings are so slow in parts that I had to duck to walk. 

Added to this, the sound insulation is rather poor: I was repeatedly awoken by the neighbours fumbling in the lock during my stay. 

Very affordable but some disappointments.

Warm service but cramped 

Although the staff and location of this inn are equally lovely, guests are let down in some key areas. 

The ceilings are dangerously low, with solid oak beams posing a threat to the intactness of your skull. Prepare to morph into a crouching leprechaun during your stay. Don't worry if you can't do the Irish accent. 

The rooms are advertised as having an ensuite, but this is simply not true: there is a shared bathroom for four, making it difficult to access and less hygienic. 

Another issue is the noise generated by the creaky floorboards and loud locks in the doors. I appreciate that this is an old property but some ironing out is required here to create a more pleasant visiting experience.

Furthermore, the food was average at best.

Guests appreciate transparency (not barefaced deception) in hotel advertisements and it is for this reason I'm particular that I am forced to give this review.

Falls short. 

I stayed here with my two daughters, I found the place very welcoming. They even gave us a box of toys to play with. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was delicious.
Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend

Great place to stay

Booked the Cock Inn for a one night stay with the husband. We turned up late but was greeted with a warm welcome, shown to our room which had been arranged to accommodate my 6ft 6in husband. The room was cosy clean and warm and breakfast was top notch, would definitely recommend to family and friends. Debbie is lovely!
