Not really a review I am afraid, but Just in case, like me you wanted to book into what is clearly a highly regarded hotel and are puzzled as you can't get through, it is currently closed, I understand  due to a very happy event.

In Britain we get used to shoddy service and inadequate attention to detail of accommodation - stay at 80 Watergate Street to see how it should be done. Highly appointed rooms, excellent breakfast and thoughtful extra touches. Superb x

.... are words used in the four most recent reviews on Trip Advisor. They are all totally deserved.  Everything about 80 Watergate Street is Excellent.  The rooms, the breakfasts, the complementary cake in the guest lounge and in the rooms,  and of course Katey herself. We were even given a bag of goodies to sustain us on the long train journey home. Katie makes all her own bread, jams, cakes, pickles, and fudge. The quality of the bacon and sausages etc in the cooked breakfast was as good as I have ever had in 30 years of staying in English B&Bs. Thank You !

Perfect, Gem, Wonderful, Amazing.....

I am traveling for business in the UK a lot but this B&B was my best stay at all.
Stayed in Blackfriar which is right under the roof. Living room, sleeping room & huge bathroom. It felt like my very own little apartment. Suffering with food allergies but here I was given a lot of choices & could enjoy breakfast without any worries. Highly recommended. Better than any 5* Hotel. Thank you Katie for looking after us


Wonderful 

Just returned from a 2 night stay at 80 Watergate.......what a total gem this pkace is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay it was perfect......Check in was accompanied by homemade cake and tea and recommendations of where to eat. We stayed in Whitefriars, it was beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything had been thought of. The bed was really comfortable and the room nice and warm. Everything was spotlessly clean. The choice at breakfast was great and the cooked breakfast, cooked to perfection. Homemade cake was left in our room every afternoon. Parking is easy and close by. Katie the owner was very kind and imformative......nothing was too much trouble. We will return for sure. 

A hidden gem

Everything here was just perfect - location is super central without being too loud, room was squeaky clean, absolutely beautiful and had all the amenities you could ask for, as well as the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! Breakfast was phenomenal and Katie was so sweet and friendly - we really appreciated the little touches (especially the delicious cakes!) Our weekend away really felt like a home from home. One of the best places I've ever stayed, thank you!

Absolutely amazing

The position of this guest house is superb for visiting Chester. A short walk and you are in the centre of the charming City. Katie sent us details of parking for the guest house, a short walk, cost £10 overnight, and we could see our car from the guest house. I believe you can walk there from the train station in about 15 minutes. Katie was a superb host gave us valuable information; cooked a wonderful breakfast, and kept us supplied with flapjacks and cakes. Our room and En-suite was spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was outside traffic noise if you chose to keep the bedroom window open. However, a Dyson fan has been supplied so you could keep the window closed. 

So convenient for the City of Chester

This is our second visit to 80 Watergate Street and the hospitality and warm welcome never ceases to amaze us.  Katie is the most wonderful host and makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive.  With beautiful rooms and comfortable beds, and the added bonus of homemade goodies in your room, to the family style breakfast table where you can chat and enjoy other guests company.  The breakfast is fantastic, and you get a goodie bag for your journey home!  This is a B&B that puts heart and soul in to ensuring that guests have an incredible stay.  Thank you Katie xx 

A perfect home from home

I would highly recommend this accommodation. The breakfasts were delicious and there was homemade cake left for us every afternoon most welcome after a day sight seeing and fresh baked cookies or flapjacks left in our room everyday. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Katie is a very welcoming hostess and it is just a short walk into the centre of Chester and the racecourse. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again

Excellent

Well just what can we say about this beautiful B&B. Home from home.
Upon our arrival we was great by a very friendly host and some lovely homemade red velvet cup cakes. We were shown to our room.....room it was the suite on the top floor, out of this world, had everything you needed and more. 
We stayed her for 2 nights and I can honestly say it's one of the best B&B I have stayed in. 
This B&B is literally 2 mins from the City Centre but even though it's that close to the City Centre is very quiet.
There is a special's board for breakfast which changes daily as well as full English breakfast.
Well worth a stay, can't wait to stay here again.....
