Definitely underrated! Some poor reviews listed but we found the rooms spacious and clean with a bit of character. Great location for town centre restaurants and racecourse. Staff are helpful and polite...all very good value so a 5/5 from us.

Stayed 1 night in the triple room with a couple of friends to attend a 60th birthday party. Room was surprisingly spacious with a great view at sunset over the rooftops. Wall-mounted flatscreen TV and plenty of tea/coffee bags with the kettle. Lots of coat hangers on a rail. Used hotel underground carpark which was £10 per night. The team at reception were very helpful pointing out directions on the map, taking our luggage into storage while we explored Cheltenham after checking out, and letting us keep our cars parked for longer at the hotel. There was quite a large choice for the continental breakfast in a pleasant  dining room.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, very quiet in the rooms no noise from other rooms, clean and exactly as described. The breakfast that was included was perfect for my daughter and myself.

Mark the Manager and James on reception couldn’t  do enough to help me on my 2 recent visits which were to help out with the fund raising in memory of my Son Martin who sadly passed away suddenly aged 40.
 I have health issues and they made sure I was accommodated in a ground floor room close to reception and a good car park space. I use insulin and they kindly stored my spare cartridges in the hotel fridge. Also as it was during the recent heatwave of 31c I needed to freeze my ice packs for my cool bag so as not to ruin my medication and to keep my drinks cool for the journey back to Manchester. 
The hotel is ideally placed for central Cheltenham and close to all places of interest in the town. The room was immaculate and the bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in at a hotel. 
I would recommend this excellent hotel to anybody looking for accommodation in Cheltenham.

We booked the family room for two nights and we all enjoyed it we were close to the high street and the two men on reception were lovely and helpful .The room was great the bed comfy and everything we needed on our doorstep we would definitely stay again

Room was clean and functional - choice of hot drinks and fridge. Could get take away delivered if needed. Quiet location but central. Parking available (fist come first served) £8 a day - spaces small to get in !
Continental breakfast included - upgrade to full English for £4 with vegetarian equivalent . Excellent friendly and efficient staff- Georgina ran the breakfast room very well  - on her own, cooking and keeping it filled up, clean and tidy. Nicki was really helpful at checkin , we were very early and there was no problem with that - really helpful and pleasant receptionist . A great team

Really lovely stay.  Was upgraded to an executive room so had masses of space for myself over the 4 nights I was there.
Reception staff really helpful.
Whilst room not serviced during my stay due to covid restrictions was able to ask for anything extra I needed. 
Room really comfortable and warm.  Bed was really comfy. 


We hadn't heard of this hotel chain before so weren't sure what to expect. Suffice to stay it was perfect for our one night visit, rooms well appointed, clean, and had everything we wanted including a very big screen TV. Continental breakfast was very enjoyable and perfect for a good start tot he day. The location is excellent, very central, and close to a bus route for the train station.

Really helpful friendly staff on reception, we booked a double on suite , later booked a disabled parking lot underneath the hotel. On arrival we were given a large family room with a disabled bathroom facility. The room was clean, plenty of tea/coffee on the hospitality tray , toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel is very central, ideal for the theatre and restaurants. Really good value for money. The receptionist, I didn't catch his name, but he was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Cheltenham

Really great city centre hotel.

2nd visit here in 10 years . As I understand it the hotel was owned by John Malkovitch the actor along with a few other business associates. Not sure if that is still the case ?  A very centrally located hotel with excellent services. Staff were all friendly and helpful . Free breakfast was the deal maker . Rooms were a good size and the hotel was quiet despite being quite busy. Parking was available for a fee.  Excellent base for taking in Cheltenham or any of the festivals including Cheltenham Races.

Great central location

Stayed here 2 nights for our little getaway and was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and nice it was. From the outside looks a little rundown but the reception area was decent. Our room (302) was large, comfortable and had all that we needed. The only issue I had was our room was poorly decorated (water stains on ceiling, poor painting really old feeling towels) and needed an upgrade and a few other areas in the hotel. I’m not trying to be picky but as a decorator I do notice these things but it could be so much better with a little upgrade. 
Saying this, we would stay here again as it ideally located to the town centre. Staff were also really good.

Comfortable but……

Just what was needed as a base for a quick visit to family before Christmas. Comfortable and clean room, with underground parking for residents. A good selection of options for breakfast. Central to the area I was visiting, the car stayed put once parked until departure.
